"It's a Shame" is the fourth and final single released by American duo Kris Kross from their debut album, ''Totally Krossed Out'' (1992). It is the least successful of the four singles, as it did not chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. However, it did manage to reach number 11 on ''Billboard'''s Hot Rap Singles chart and number 55 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number 31 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri. The group had performed "It's a Shame" on numerous television shows such as '' A Different World''. Critical reception Larry Flick from ''Billboard'' wrote, "Preteen rap duo drops its hardest-hitting single to date. Kris Kross
Kris Kross was an American hip hop duo that consisted of Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith. Kris Kross was the youngest hip-hop duo to gain success, with gold and platinum albums at 12 and 13 years old. The duo was discovered by Jermaine Dupri in 1991 and hit worldwide status the following year with their smash hit debut single, "Jump", which topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for eight weeks and was certified double platinum as a single. They went on to release three studio albums, with their debut album '' Totally Krossed Out'' topping the US ''Billboard'' 200, and their following albums, '' Da Bomb'' and '' Young, Rich & Dangerous'' making it into the Top 20. James Masterton
James Masterton (born 2 September 1973) is a music writer and columnist, his work focusing on the UK Singles Chart having been an online fixture on various sites since the 1990s. Masterton is also a producer for talkSPORT, and has worked on air as a presenter at the Bradford independent local radio station the Pulse. Music writing Masterton began posting his weekly comments about the latest singles chart on Usenet in 1992, while a student at Lancaster University, whence he graduated in 1994. In 1995 he became an important element of BT's Dotmusic website, an online hub for the UK music scene and one of the few sites that posted the entire UK top 75 every week. When Dotmusic was purchased from BT by Yahoo! on October 28, 2003, Masterton's commentary moved to Yahoo! Launch with it, remaining with the site as it transformed into Yahoo!
