Israel In The Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Israel participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the entry "Home" written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organisied the reality singing competition ''HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion'' ("The Next Star for Eurovision"). On 12 February, Kobi Marimi won the competition and therefore performed the Israeli song in the Eurovision Song Contest. As the host country, Israel automatically qualified to compete in the final. ''HaKokhav HaBa'' ( he, הַכּוֹכָב הַבָּא, translated as "The Next Star"; formerly ''HaKokhav HaBa LaErovizion'', ''Rising Star to the Eurovision'') is an Israeli interactive reality singing competition, which was first broadcast on Channel 2 from 17 September 2013. It is based on the ''Rising Star'' franchise created by Keshet Broadcasting. The show is a continuation of the former program ''Kokhav Nolad'' (meaning "A Star is Born") which featured aspiring singers competing for a winning title. Harel Skaat ( he, הראל סקעת, born 8 August 1981) sometimes known by the mononym Harel is an Israeli singer and songwriter. He represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song " Milim" ("מילים", "Words"). Skaat has been singing and performing in public since he was a child. Israel was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by Shiri Maimon and the song "HaSheket SheNish'ar". Keren Peles Toor ( he, קרן פלס טור; born March 11, 1979) is an Israeli singer-songwriter, poet and pianist. Music career Peles graduated from the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. In 2005, she became famous for her songwriting for Miri Mesika and Shiri Maimon. Her debut album, '' If This Is Life'' was released in July 2006 and was certified gold after selling 20,000 copies.
