''Israel's Arab Warriors'' is a BBC Arabic documentary shot over six months by a team that gained access to the Gadsar Nahal - the all-Arab unit of (500 and growing) of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). The documentary aired to over 10 million Arabic-speaking homes. For the first time, the BBC's Arabic service broadcast a documentary focusing on Israel's minority Arab population and the growing number who voluntarily serve in the IDF. In the film, Senior BBC Reporter Jane Corbin follows the first all-Arab unit of the Israeli Defense Forces to be deployed inside the West Bank and others serving in integrated units with Jewish soldiers. Oren Rosenfeld (born 29 January 1976) is an Multi-Emmy Award winning Israeli documentary filmmaker, photojournalist, and film producer. Career Rosenfeld was born in Jerusalem on 29 Januar 1976. He started his career as a photojournalist covering the 2nd Palestinian Intifada. In October 2016, he Directed and co-wrote Israel's Arab Warriors for the BBC. In the film, he and cowriter Jane Corbin followed the first unit of Israeli Arab soldiers to serve in the West Bank. Rosenfeld's award-winning film '' Hummus The Movie'' stirred controversy when the Guinness Book of World records refused to send representatives to judge the world's largest plate of hummus due to alleged security concerns. Jane Phillipa Corbin, Lady Maples (born 16 July 1954) is a British journalist and film-maker who has made over a hundred documentaries mainly for the BBC and its current affairs programme ''Panorama''. She specialises in covering Central Asia, the Middle East and terrorism and has investigated many of the major human rights issues and global political and military events over the past three decades. Early life and career Corbin was educated at King's College London, graduating with a degree in English in 1975. She was part of the first intake of new journalists to be employed by ''Channel 4 News'' before its launch in November 1982. Gadsar Nahal
Reconnaissance Battalion 934 or Gadsar Nahal is the special forces unit or Reconnaissance battalion of the Nahal Brigade. The battalion is divided into three companies: the Sayeret/Palsar (Reconnaissance Company), the Palhan (Engineering and Demolitions Company), and the Palnat/Orev (Anti-tank Company). Training consists of 4 months boot camp followed by 4 months advanced training and then an additional 4 to 5 months l of specialised training. The unit operates on a rotation of 4 months of training followed by 4 months of deployment. The training is conducted at the unit's headquarters, Mahane 21, while security deployment is conducted in the West Bank areas of Jenin and Nablus.
