Island Pond is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Brighton in Essex County, Vermont, United States. The population was 750 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Berlin, NH–VT Micropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Island Pond is in the center of the town of Brighton, at the north end (outlet) of Island Pond, the lake. Vermont Routes 114 and 105 pass through the community, joining as Derby Street leading south out of the center of the CDP. Route 114 leaves north from Island Pond as Railroad Street, leading to the Canada–United States border at Norton; to the south Route 114 leads to Lyndonville. Route 105 leaves east as East Brighton Road, leading to Bloomfield on the Connecticut River; to the southwest it follows Derby Street and Route 114 for , then turns northwest and leads through Charleston to Derby Center. Great Island Pond, known officially as Island Pond, is a pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts, one of three ponds known as ''Island Pond'' within the town (One is located near South Pond village, and the other is located in the Cedarville section of town). The pond is located in the eastern portion of The Pinehills The Pinehills is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Pine Hills region of Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. At the 2010 census, the population was 955. It includes a real estate development that bears the same name. As of 2008, ... development south of Little Island Pond. The Pinehills has a private sewer treatment facility near this pond, which was also formerly used as a holding facility by The Pine Hills LLC Golf Club until the spring of 2003. Island Pond (sometimes referred to locally as Big Island Pond) is a water body located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, in the towns of Derry, Hampstead and Atkinson. The pond is at the head of the Spicket River watershed, which feeds into the Merrimack River in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The pond was formed from the merger of Perch Pond in Hampstead and Lake Wentworth in Derry in 1878, when a new dam raised the water level by . The pond is named for Governor's Island, a island that lies within it. The island in turn is named for Benning Wentworth, colonial governor of New Hampshire, who built a summer residence on the north end of the island called Birch Farm. A smaller island is named after the Native American chief Escumbuit.
