The Islamabad United is a franchise cricket team that represents Islamabad in the Pakistan Super League. They were one of the five teams that had a competition in the 2017 Pakistan Super League. The team was captained by Misbah ul Haq and coached by Dean Jones. They lifted their maiden PSL title as well as won the inaugural season of Pakistan Super League, which makes them the defending champions in 2017. Team finished fourth after group stage fixtures, winning four matches from their eight matches in the PSL 2017. They got eliminated in the eliminator 1 by Karachi Kings, chasing a low total. Islamabad United ( ur, ) is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). It was the inaugural champion of the Pakistan Super League. The team is based in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, and was formed in 2015 to compete in the 2016 Pakistan Super League, first season of the Pakistan Super League. The franchise is owned by Leonine Global Investments through its sports entity Leonine Global Sports, owned by Amna Naqvi and Ali Naqvi. Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran (; born 2 October 1995) is a Trinidadian cricketer who currently plays for the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket and a former captain of the limited-overs formats. He also plays for the Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches. He made his international debut for the West Indies in September 2016. Mohammad Irfan
Mohammad Irfan ( Punjabi, ur, ) (born 6 June 1982) is a Pakistani cricketer who has represented Pakistan in Test, ODI and T20 cricket. Saeed Ajmal SI ( Punjabi, ; born 14 October 1977) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer, who played all forms of the game. He is a right-arm off-spin bowler who bats right handed. Bradley James Haddin (born 23 October 1977), is a former Australian cricketer, vice-captain and coach who represented Australia in all three forms of international cricket. Rafatullah Mohmand (born 6 November 1976 in Peshawar, North-West Frontier Province) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox bowler. Khalid Latif ( ur, ; born 4 November 1985) is a Pakistani former cricketer who has been banned for five years, for his involvement in spot-fixing. A right-handed opening batsman, Latif captained Pakistan in the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup win and the 2010 Asian Games bronze medal win.
