''Ishar 2: Messengers of Doom'' is a 1993 role-playing video game developed and published by Silmarils for the Amiga, Atari ST, MS-DOS, Atari Falcon, and Macintosh home computers. It is the second entry in the '' Ishar'' trilogy. Gameplay The party from '' Ishar: Legend of the Fortress'' can be imported to the sequel. The party consists maximum of five persons. When recruiting party members, race and personality traits have to be considered since all characters don't get along with each other. Compared to the previous game, the game world is three times bigger, and the interface has been rearranged and streamlined. The game can be controlled entirely with a mouse. The combat is in real-time. Plot An evil wizard has made a drug that poisons the people of Arborea. The drug causes hallucinations and makes them accept the wizard as ruler. Silmarils (company)
Silmarils was a French computer game software company founded in 1987 by Louis-Marie and André Rocques. It produced games for IBM PC compatible, PC, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Apple Macintosh, Macintosh, Atari ST and Atari Falcon. The company is most closely associated with its ''Ishar'' series. ''Crystals of Arborea'' was one of the first games to offer real-time 3D environment and a large world with very few limits on movement. The company went bankrupt in 2003, and in 2004 the Rocques brothers and another former Silmarils member, Pascal Einsweiler, founded a new studio called Eversim, specializing in political strategy games. It was named after J. R. R. Tolkien's Silmarils. DOSBox
DOSBox is a free and open-source emulator which runs software for MS-DOS compatible disk operating systems—primarily video games. It was first released in 2002, when DOS technology was becoming obsolete. Its adoption for running DOS games is widespread, with it being used in commercial re-releases of those games as well. DOSBox can be downloaded and used from the video game console emulator front-end RetroArch. Development Before Windows XP, consumer-oriented versions of Windows were based on MS-DOS. Windows 3.0 and its updates were operating environments that ran on top of MS-DOS, and the Windows 9x series consisted of operating systems that were still based on MS-DOS. Amiga 1200 Games
Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. This includes the Atari ST—released earlier the same year—as well as the Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. Based on the Motorola 68000 microprocessor, the Amiga differs from its contemporaries through the inclusion of custom hardware to accelerate graphics and sound, including sprites and a blitter, and a pre-emptive multitasking operating system called AmigaOS. The Amiga 1200, or A1200 (code-named " Channel Z"), is a personal computer in the Amiga computer family released by Commodore International, aimed at the home computer market. It was launched on October 21, 1992, at a base price of £399 in the United Kingdom () and $599 in the United States (). History The A1200 was launched a few months after the Amiga 600, using a similar slimline design that replaced the earlier Amiga 500 Plus and Amiga 500.
