The irresistible force paradox (also unstoppable force paradox or shield and spear paradox), is a classic paradox formulated as "What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?" The immovable object and the unstoppable force are both implicitly assumed to be indestructible, or else the question would have a trivial resolution. Furthermore, it is assumed that they are two entities. Mixmaster Morris (born Morris Gould, 30 December 1965) is an English electronica DJ and underground musician who has also recorded as The Irresistible Force. His work in the 1990s blended ambient music and chill-out influences with UK dance styles. Life and career Morris Gould was born in Brighton, Sussex, England, but grew up in Lincolnshire and was educated at Millfield in Somerset, and King's College London. At 15 he founded a punk rock band, The Ripchords, whose sole release, an eponymous Extended play, EP with four tracks, was championed by the BBC Radio One DJ John Peel. After leaving university, he began working as a DJ in 1985 with his "Mongolian Hip Hop Show" on pirate radio station Network 21 in London – the handle Mixmaster Morris was suggested by the station director. "Irresistible Force" is a song by the Bee Gees, released in March 1997 on their album '' Still Waters''. The song was written by Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb. Recording It was written in 1995, and was recorded in 1996 as a demo and then this song was recorded with "Miracles Happen." "Irresistible Force" is the second single from American alternative rock band Jane's Addiction's fourth studio album, ''The Great Escape Artist''. The song was released on August 3, 2011. Musical style and lyrics The song features TV on the Radio member and multi-instrumentalist Dave Sitek on guitar and bass guitar. It is less rock-laden than the previous Jane's Addiction single, " End to the Lies", and focuses more on synth-aided textures and atmospheric soundscapes. The song starts with a spoken word intro and continues on verse-chorus form, which is accompanied by a guitar solo by Dave Navarro. The verses, which were built around " droning funk" and "the rubbery basslines" were also noted. Lyrically, the song contains references to the irresistible force paradox. Dame Barbara Cartland (1901–2000) was a prolific English contemporary and historical romance novelist who published 728 books over 76 years. Cartland published under several pen names, including her married name Barbara McCorquodale. She also briefly published under the pen name Marcus Belfry, the pseudonym of Polish film and television actor Olek Krupa. After her death in 2000, 160 unpublished archival manuscripts were published as the ''Barbara Cartland Pink Collection''.
