Iris Nazmy
Iris Nazmy ( arz, ايريس نظمى; died March 4, 2018) was an Egyptian writer, journalist and film critic. She was the President of the Alexandria Film Festival. Biography Nazmy was born in Cairo and graduated from Cairo University's Faculty of Arts. When she was a student, her first dialogue was with the then-Dean of the Faculty of Arts regarding the perceived inferiority of women who sit in cafeterias or coffee shops. This dialogue was published in ''Al Qahira'' newspaper. At the beginning of her career she worked at Sabāh al-Khayr and ''Rose al-Yūsuf'' magazine. Cairo University
Cairo University ( ar, جامعة القاهرة, Jāmi‘a al-Qāhira), also known as the Egyptian University from 1908 to 1940, and King Fuad I University and Fu'ād al-Awwal University from 1940 to 1952, is Egypt's premier public university. Cairo
Cairo ( ; ar, القاهرة, al-Qāhirah, ) is the capital of Egypt and its largest city, home to 10 million people. ''Rose al-Yūsuf'' ( ar, روز اليوسف; also written ''Rose al-Yousef'') is an Arabic weekly political magazine published in Egypt. History and profile ''Rose al-Yūsuf'' was first published on 26 October 1925. The magazine was named after its founder, Rose al Yusuf. It is published by the Rose al Yusuf group and is based in Cairo. The founding editor of the magazine was Mohamed El-Tabii until 1934. He had a great role in establishing the paper alongside its founder Rose al Yusuf, a Syrian-born female journalist. Other renowned Egyptian journalists worked later on as editors, including Mostafa Amin and Ali Amin. Cairo International Film Festival
The Cairo International Film Festival ( ar, مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي) is an annual internationally accredited film festival held in Cairo Opera House. It was established in 1976 and has taken place every year since its inception, except for 2011 and 2013, when it was cancelled due to budget limitations and political instability.
