David Gillick
David Gillick (born 9 July 1983, in Dublin) is an Irish international track and field athlete. He began his education in Our Lady's Boys School and attended St Benildus College secondary school in Kilmacud. He studied at Dublin Institute of Technology before moving to Loughborough University in the United Kingdom to train as a full-time athlete with coach Nick Dakin. Gillick specialises in the 400 metres and he won the European Indoor Championship in 2005 and 2007, as well as the Irish National Outdoor Championship in 2006 and 2007. He set the Irish Indoor record of 45.52 seconds in the 2007 final. The time also beat the Irish outdoor record of 45.58 and was within the Olympic 'A' qualifying standard for the 2008 Games. On 4 July 2009 he ran 44.77 seconds in a race in Madrid to set a new national record. He is also the 2009 Irish national 200 m champion. 2010 European Athletics Championships – Women's 3000 Metres Steeplechase
The women's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2010 European Athletics Championships was held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on 28 and 30 July. Medalists In the original running of the event, Marta Dominguez of Spain was awarded the silver medal, but she was disqualified and her result nullified. As a result Lyubov Kharlamova was promoted to the silver medal, and Hattie Archer, who at the time ran under her maidan name of Hattie Dean, was awarded the bronze medal, the first major women's medal for a British steeplechaser. On 18 August 2017 Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced that Kharlamova had also been disqualified for doping offences following retesting. As a result, she too was disqualified, and her result nullified. As a result, Archer/Dean will be promoted to the silver medal, and Wioletta Frankiewicz of Poland will be promoted to the bronze medal, although reallocations have yet to be confirmed. Alistair Ian Cragg (born 13 June 1980 in Johannesburg) is an international track and field athlete. Born and brought up in South Africa, he has since lived in England and United States where he attended the University of Arkansas. He races for Ireland and competes most often over 3000 metres and 5000 metres. He holds the Irish national records in both the 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres. He holds the European road running record in the 5 km in 13:26, set in Carlsbad, California. Rose-Anne Galligan (born 9 December 1987) is an Irish athlete. She competes in the 1500 metres and the 800 metres, where she is the Irish national record holder with a time of 2:00.58. Career Galligan is a former Irish schools champion. Galligan attended university at the University of Tennessee, where she competed on the athletics team. In the distance medley relay at the 2007 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships Athletics finals, she was the opening runner on the silver medal winning team. Thomas Chamney
Thomas Chamney (born 16 April 1984) is an Irish runner who was born in Clonmel and brought up in Dublin. He specialises in the 800 metres event. He was educated at Kilkenny College and at Saint Columba's College, Dublin. Chamney runs for the Crusaders AC club whilst in Dublin and has been on an athletics scholarship at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana where he studied English from 2002–2007. He is a four-time Irish Senior 800m champion and competed at the Beijing Olympics in that event in 2008.
