The Ireland women's under-19 cricket team represents Ireland in international under-19 women's cricket. The team is administrated by Cricket Ireland. The team played their first official matches at the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, the first ever international women's under-19 cricket competition, in which they reached the Super Six round. History The inaugural Women's Under-19 World Cup was scheduled to take place in January 2021, but was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was eventually scheduled to take place in 2023, in South Africa. As a Full Member of the ICC, Ireland qualified automatically for the tournament. Ireland announced their 15-player squad for the tournament on 1 December 2022. Glenn Querl, Head Coach of Scorchers, was chosen as Head Coach of the side for the tournament. Glenn Querl
Reginald Glenn Querl (born 4 April 1988) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, Querl represented Zimbabwe at Under-19 level in the Afro-Asia Under-19 Cup in November 2005, and during the 2006 Under-19 World Cup. In 2010, Querl was selected as one of 21 players to form the first Unicorns squad to take part in the Clydesdale Bank 40 domestic limited overs competition against the regular first-class counties. Scorchers are an Irish women's cricket team that compete in the Women's Super Series. The team has no geographical base, instead being made up of some of the best players from across Ireland. They are captained by Gaby Lewis and coached by Claire Terblanche. They have won seven Super Series tournaments. Amy Hunter (born 11 October 2005) is an Irish cricketer who plays for Dragons and Ireland.
