Ireland A National Rugby Union Team
The Ireland Wolfhounds (formerly Ireland A and Ireland B) are the second national rugby union team of Ireland, behind the Ireland national team. They previously competed in the Churchill Cup together with the England Saxons, the national teams of Canada and the United States, as well as a selection of other nations' 1st, 2nd and 3rd representative sides (including Scotland A and the New Zealand Maori). They also played against other Six Nations countries' A sides during the Six Nations. They have intermittently played touring sides, namely South Africa in 2000, the All Blacks in 2001 and Australia in 2006. On the 21 June 2009, Ireland A won their first Churchill Cup, beating the England Saxons 49–22 in the final. They also won the Churchill Plate three times in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. The Six Nations Championship (known as the Guinness Six Nations for sponsorship reasons) is an annual international men's rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The current champions are France, who won the 2022 tournament. Dave Kilcoyne
David Kilcoyne (born 14 December 1988) is an Irish rugby union player for Munster in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup. He plays as a prop and represents UL Bohemians in the All-Ireland League. Early life Born in Limerick, Kilcoyne played his schools rugby with Ardscoil Rís, where he won the Munster Schools Junior Cup. The former Munster and Ireland prop Marcus Horan is a cousin of Kilcoyne's. Munster Kilcoyne joined the Munster Academy at the start of the 2010–11 season, after impressing in the 2009–10 British and Irish Cup campaign. Prop (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Jeremy Loughman
Jeremy Loughman (born 22 July 1995) is an Irish rugby union player for United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup side Munster. Internationally, Loughman made his senior debut for Ireland in 2022. He plays as a prop. Early life Loughman was born in Reno, Nevada and lived there until his was four-years-old, when his family moved to Sevenoaks, Kent due to his fathers work in the oil and gas industry. The family stayed there for eight years before moving to Athy, County Kildare, where Loughman first played rugby for Athy RFC, while he attended Árdscoil na Tríonóide and was capped at Leinster Under-18 Youths level. Diarmuid Barron (born 6 August 1998) is an Irish rugby union player for Munster in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup. He plays as a hooker and represents Garryowen in the All-Ireland League. Connacht Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Connachta) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Dave Heffernan
Dave Heffernan (born 31 January 1991) is a rugby union player from Republic of Ireland, Ireland. He currently plays for Irish provincial side Connacht Rugby, Connacht in the Pro14. Heffernan started his career playing as a Flanker (rugby union), flanker, before moving to the position of Hooker (rugby union), hooker. He plays his club rugby for Buccaneers RFC, Buccaneers. The All Blacks XV is the second national rugby union team of New Zealand, after the All Blacks. New Zealand's second national team has had numerous names in its history: Junior All Blacks, New Zealand XV, New Zealand A, New Zealand B, All Blacks XV.
