Iowa Senate District 46
The 46th District of the Iowa Senate is located in eastern Iowa, and is currently composed of Muscatine and Scott Counties. Current elected officials Mark Lofgren is the senator currently representing the 46th District. Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Mariannette Jane Miller-Meeks (born September 6, 1955) is an American physician and politician serving as the U.S. representative from Iowa's 2nd congressional district since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Miller-Meeks served as Iowa state senator for the 41st district from 2019 to 2021. Her district includes most of Iowa's southeastern quadrant, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Burlington, Iowa City, and Miller-Meeks's hometown of Ottumwa. Miller-Meeks ran three unsuccessful campaigns for the U.S. House against Dave Loebsack. When Loebsack retired in 2020, she ran again and defeated Rita Hart by a margin of six votes. Gene Fraise
Eugene Stace Fraise (May 7, 1932 – November 27, 2020) was an American politician from Iowa. Career He served in the Iowa Senate from the 46th district from 1986, when he filled a vacancy left by Lowell Junkins' resignation, until 2013. Fraise served on several committees in the Iowa Senate – the Appropriations committee; the Judiciary committee; and the Agriculture committee, of which he was the committee chairman. He also served as vice chair of the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes sitting on the Lee County Board of Supervisors for seven years. Fraise was re-elected in 2004 with 14,272 votes (53%), defeating Republican opponent Doug P. Abolt. Paul McKinley
Paul McKinley (born 1947) is the Iowa State Senator from the 36th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 2001 and served as Senate minority leader from 2009 until November 2011. McKinley currently serves on the Education committee, the Local Government committee, and the Veterans Affairs committee. John William Judge (born September 20, 1944) is an American politician from Iowa. Born in Albia, Iowa, Judge graduated from Albia Community High School and went to Iowa State University He served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Vietnam serving with the military police. Patty Judge
Patty Jean Poole Judge (born November 2, 1943) is an American politician who served as the 45th lieutenant governor of Iowa from 2007 to 2011 and previously the 13th Secretary of Agriculture of Iowa from 1999 to 2007. She unsuccessfully ran for reelection as lieutenant governor in 2010 after being elected to the office in 2006 with Chet Culver as governor. On March 4, 2016, she announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate and won the primary on June 7. Leonard Boswell
Leonard Leroy Boswell (January 10, 1934 – August 17, 2018) was an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 1997 to 2013, a district based in Des Moines. A member of the Democratic Party, he was defeated for reelection in 2012 by 4th district incumbent Tom Latham, who decided to run against him after redistricting.
