Ionuț Neagu
Ionuț Neagu (born 26 October 1989) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga I club Oțelul Galați. Club career Oțelul Galați Neagu with Oțelul in 2011 Born in Galați, Neagu began his career with the youth system at Oțelul Galați. He made his professional debut as an 88th-minute substitute in a 1–1 away draw against Brașov on 22 May 2009 and finished 2008–09 season with two appearances. Neagu began to establish himself in the Oțelul first team from the 2009–10 season, making 24 league starts. On 7 March 2010, he scored his first goal in a 1–0 victory over CFR Cluj. Steaua București On 3 September 2013, Neagu agreed to join Steaua București after the club agreed a €620k transfer fee with Oțelul Galați. FC Steaua București was a Romanian professional football club of which two current entities are claiming the records. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. In 1998, the club and facilities were separated from the sports club and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, allegedly leading to one of the shareholders (Gigi Becali) acquiring full ownership five years later. However, CSA Steaua București sued the football club in 2011, claiming that this was a new entity; the two have since been in a legal conflict regarding the ownership of the Steaua brand and honours, which resulted in multiple court cases and the forced change of the name of ''FC Steaua București'' to FCSB in early 2017. The Cupa Ligii ( en, League Cup) was Romania's secondary club football tournament. Like the Cupa României, it was played on a knockout (single elimination) basis. History It is unclear when the competition was first created, as there are no official recordings. It probably started sometime after 1990, but there may already have been an edition as early as 1978. Cupa Ligii was meant to shorten the break between the end of the league season and the start of a major international competition. It had a friendly character and was last played in 2000 before being dropped.
