Io Canto
''Io canto'' (English: "''I Sing''") is the ninth studio album by Italian singer Laura Pausini, released by Warner Music on 10 November 2006. On 14 November, Warner Music released ''Io canto''s Spanish-language edition ''Yo canto'' for the hispanophone market. ''Yo canto–Io canto'' is a limited-edition double album featuring both the Italian– and Spanish-language editions. This marks the first instance in Pausini's multilingual music career in which both editions are offered in a single release. Warner Music issued a third edition pressed exclusively for the French market. This pressing of ''Io canto'' features the bonus track "Je chante", a partial French adaptation of the Italian "Io canto". The album consists entirely of covers. Laura Pausini
Laura Pausini (; born 16 May 1974) is an Italian singer. She rose to fame in 1993, winning the newcomer artists' section of the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival with her debut single "La solitudine", which became an Italian standard and an international hit. Her self-titled debut album was released in Italy on 23 April 1993 and later became an international success, selling two million copies worldwide. Its follow-up, '' Laura'', was released in 1994 and confirmed her international success, selling three million copies worldwide. Hispanophone
Hispanophone and Hispanic refers to anything relating to the Spanish language (the Hispanosphere). In a cultural, rather than merely linguistic sense, the notion of "Hispanophone" goes further than the above definition. The Hispanic culture is the legacy of the vast and prolonged Spanish Empire, and so the term can refer to people whose cultural background is primarily associated with Spain, regardless of racial or geographical differences. ''Cantando por un Sueño'' (Singing for a Dream) is a television contest produced by the Mexican television network Canal de las Estrellas which also aired on Univision in the United States. As with its twin show ''Bailando por un sueño'' (Dancing for a Dream), celebrities are paired with common, everyday people.
