Laura Fygi
Laura Fygi (born 27 August 1955) is a Dutch jazz singer. Fygi's father was a Dutch businessman, a director of Philips, and her mother an Egyptian belly dancer. She was raised in Uruguay, until her father's death in the late 1960s, when she moved back to the Netherlands with her mother. She was then under the care of a French-speaking governess before being adopted by the principal of her school. During the 1980s, she was a member of Centerfold, a Dutch disco band which was popular in the Netherlands, Europe, and Japan. In the early 1990s, she began a solo career and recorded her debut album with Toots Thielemans. During her career, she has worked with Johnny Griffin, Michel Legrand, Clark Terry and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and considers Julie London Julie London (née Peck; September 26, 1926 – October 18, 2000) was an American singer and actress whose career spanned more than 40 years. ''Introducing'' is the debut extended play by Swedish singer Zara Larsson. The EP was released on 21 January 2013, by TEN Music Group and Universal Music Group Universal Music Group N.V. (often abbreviated as UMG and referred to as just Universal Music) is a Dutch– American multinational music corporation under Dutch law. UMG's corporate headquarters are located in Hilversum, Netherlands and its .... The first and only single from the album, " Uncover", was released on 21 January 2013. "Uncover" went on to be a success, topping the charts in Sweden and Norway along with becoming certified 6× Platinum in Sweden and Platinum in Norway. Commercial performance Although the album itself did not chart on any charts, its songs did well. Besides "Uncover" being an enormous hit, other songs on the EP including "Under My Shades", "When Worlds Collide", and "It's a Wrap", peaked at number 45, number 26, and number 43, respectively. Ricky Fanté
Ricky Andrew Fanté (born November 4, 1969) is an American rhythm and blues singer, sound engineer, and songwriter. Music career After serving in the United States Marine Corps for a few years after high school, a demo of his two-man group, produced by his partner ex-rocker Scott Rickett called Soul Surfing, fell into the hands of A&R executive Josh Deutsch, which led to a development deal in 2001. In 2002, Fanté met with Norah Jones's collaborator Jesse Harris, and began co-writing and recording his debut record. Fanté was then signed by Virgin Records and released '' Rewind'' in July 2004. Fanté gained critical acclaim for the song " It Ain’t Easy". He performed the single on NBC’s long-running late night talk and variety show ''The Tonight Show with Jay Leno''. Although the song was not considered a hit, the album garnered moderate success in the U.S. and abroad. The song reached No. #8 on Italian music chart.
