Into The Night (TV Series)
''Into the Night'' is a Belgian apocalyptic sci-fi drama thriller streaming television series created by Jason George, inspired by the 2015 Polish science fiction novel ''The Old Axolotl'' by Jacek Dukaj. The series premiered on Netflix on May 1, 2020. It is Netflix's first Belgian original series. On July 1, 2020, the series was renewed by Netflix for a second season. The second season premiered on September 8, 2021, while a Turkish language submarine-set spin-off, '' Yakamoz S-245'', was released on April 20, 2022. Premise The first season follows a group of people whose plane is hijacked while they are on board a red-eye flight from Brussels. Terenzio, the hijacker, is an Italian NATO soldier who forces his way onto the aircraft and demands an early take-off. The handful of people in the aircraft now become some of the survivors from a deadly global event caused by exposure to sunlight. The Old Axolotl
''The Old Axolotl'' ( pl, Starość aksolotla) is a 2015 digital-only novel by Polish science-fiction author Jacek Dukaj. The novel was released in Polish on March 10, 2015, and shortly afterward, on March 24 that year, in English (translated by Stanley Bill). It has been described as "an experiment in reading (and creating) the electronic literature of the future". It is Dukaj's first novel and his homepage described the work as his "debut in English", though several of his short stories (''The Golden Galley,'' 1996, ''The Iron General'', 2010, ''The Apocrypha of Lem'', 2011) have been translated prior to this.
