Interparliamentary Club Of The Democratic Right
Interparliamentary Club of the Democratic Right (Czech language, Czech: ''Meziparlamentní klub demokratické pravice'', MKDP) was a faction in Civic Forum. It represented political right within the movement. It transformed into the Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party after the dissolution of the Civic Forum. History The club was formed in September 1990. Its foundation was initiated by Daniel Kroupa. It consisted of 33 members of Czech National Council and 33 members of Federal Assembly. Václav Klaus became its leader. The club announced its principles on 12 October 1990. It advocated Neoliberalism, Neoliberal economical politics. In December 1990 rival clubs within the Civic Forum were formed. The main rival of MKDP was the Centrism, centrist Liberal Club of the Civic Forum, Liberal Club led by Jiří Dienstbier. Václav Klaus (; born 19 June 1941) is a Czech economist and politician who served as the second president of the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013. From July 1992 until the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in January 1993, he served as the second and last prime minister of the Czech Republic while it was a federal subject of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, and then as the first prime minister of the newly independent Czech Republic from 1993 to 1998. Martin Palouš
Martin Palouš (born 14 October 1950 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is the ex-Permanent Representative to the United Nations for the Czech Republic. He presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on 11 September 2006. Palouš is married to Pavla Paloušová and they have two children. Education Palouš has a Doctorate of Natural Sciences degree in chemistry from Charles University in Prague. He has also studied philosophy, social sciences, and law. Rudolf Battěk
Rudolf Battěk (2 November 1924 – 17 March 2013) was a Czech sociologist, politician, and political dissident during Czechoslovakia Communist era. Biography Battěk co-founded the Club of Committed Non-Party Members (KAN) in 1968, which promoted human rights. KAN was banned by the Soviet Union following the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia later in 1968. Battěk was arrested and imprisoned on two occasions for activities against the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia. He spent ten years imprisoned by Communist authorities during the 1970s and 1980s. Jiří Dienstbier
Jiří Dienstbier (20 April 1937 – 8 January 2011) was a Czech politician and journalist. Born in Kladno, he was one of Czechoslovakia's most respected foreign correspondents before being fired after the Prague Spring. Unable to have a livelihood as a journalist, he worked as a janitor for the next two decades. During this time, he secretly revived the suppressed ''Lidové noviny'' newspaper. After the end of communist rule in 1989, he became the country's first non-Communist foreign minister in four decades, a post he held until 1992. In 2008 he was elected to the Czech Senate for the Kladno region. He died in Prague. The Civic Democratic Party ( cs, Občanská demokratická strana, ODS) is a liberal-conservative and soft eurosceptic political party in the Czech Republic.
