International Sport Karate Association
The ISKA (originally International Sport Karate Association, later also called the International Sport Kickboxing Association) is one of the major international bodies regulating sport karate and kickboxing matches, and is based in the United States. It was established in 1985 as a response to legal and revenue issues that sent the Professional Karate Association (PKA) into decline. History From 1974 until 1985, the PKA had been the most recognized worldwide kickboxing sanctioning group. It was instrumental in establishing public relay of the sport via ESPN, helping to introduce the burgeoning sport to a wider audience, and had also developed the first fighter's ratings systems. Five major U.S.-based promoters and resigning PKA executives created the new body, the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA), with an official announcement on July 16, 1986. Iška
The Iška () is a river of central Slovenia. Part of the river valley—the Iška Gorge or Iška Canyon ( sl, Iški vintgar)—separates Lower Carniola from Inner Carniola. The river is long. After flowing past Strahomer, the river follows an almost straight line and joins the Ljubljanica River, and therefore belongs to the Sava and Black Sea basins. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Professional boxing In professional boxing, light welterweight is contested between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, in which boxers weigh above 61.2kg or 135 pounds and up to 63.5 kg or 140 pounds. The first champion of this weight class was Pinky Mitchell in 1946, though he was only awarded his championship by a vote of the readers of the ''Boxing Blade'' magazine. There was not widespread acceptance of this new weight division in its early years, and the New York State Athletic Commission withdrew recognition of it in 1930. Yannick Reine (born 12 June 1987) is a French kickboxer. He is a WKN World Lightweight kickboxing champion, and the current ISKA World K-1 Super Lightweight champion. Combat Press ranked him in the Bantamweight top ten between May and July 2019. Martial arts career In April 2016, Yannick fought Lorenzo Piras for the WKN European Muaythai Lightweight title. He beat Piras by decision. In December 2016, Reine fought Soufiane Hammani for the ISKA World K-1 Super Lightweight title. Reine won the fight by unanimous decision. , better known as , is a Japanese kickboxer, fighting out of Japan. As of July 2021, he is the #7 ranked Bantamweight according to Combat Press. He's been ranked since May 2019. Kickboxing career Koji lost to Taiga by decision in June 2017. In February 2017, Koji fought Mohamed Boulef for the ISKA World Lightweight title. He beat Boulef by unanimous decision.
