Interdicasterial Commission For The Church In Eastern Europe
The Permanent Interdicasterial Commission for the Church in Eastern Europe is part of the Roman Curia. It was established in 1991 to better deal with the rapidly changing situation in the early 1990s. The commission has as its president the Cardinal Secretary of State. Other members include the Secretary and Under-Secretary for Relations with States. As well as the secretaries of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, Congregation for the Clergy, Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life and the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. Pietro Parolin
Pietro Parolin OMRI (, ; born 17 January 1955) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church. A cardinal since February 2014, he has served as the Vatican's Secretary of State since October 2013 and a member of the Council of Cardinal Advisers since July 2014. Before that, he worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See for thirty years, where his assignments included terms in Nigeria, Mexico and Venezuela, as well as more than six years as Undersecretary of State for Relations with States. He speaks fluent Italian, English and French, and near-native Spanish. Antoine Camilleri (prelate)
Antoine Camilleri (born 20 August 1965) is a Maltese prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the Under-Secretary for Relations with States in the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, until he was named an archbishop and given the title of apostolic nuncio in 2019. He joined the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1999. Biography Camilleri was born in Sliema, Malta on 20 August 1965. He attended St. Joseph's School, Sliema, and St. Aloysius' College, Birkirkara. He graduated Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 1988. Brian Farrell, LC (born 8 February 1944), is an Irish prelate of the Catholic Church. He was named a bishop and the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity in December 2002. Biography Farrell was born in Dublin, Ireland, and joined the Legion of Christ in 1961. He was ordained a priest on 26 November 1969 in Rome. From 1970 to 1976 he was the novice director in the Legionary seminary in Orange, Connecticut, US. José Rodríguez Carballo
José Rodríguez Carballo (born 11 August 1953) is a Spanish Catholic archbishop and official of the Roman Curia. On 6 April 2013, he was named secretary for the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. Joël Mercier (born 5 January 1945) is a French prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who serves in the Roman Curia as the Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy. Biography Mercier was born in Chaudefonds-sur-Layon, France, and ordained a priest of the Diocese of Angers on 27 June 1970. He did his graduate studies in classics at the Sorbonne and in 1964 entered the seminary in his Angers, where he earned a B.A. in philosophy and a licentiate in theology at the Catholic University of the West. The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), formally known as the Society of Saint Francis de Sales (), is a religious congregation of men in the Catholic Church, founded in the late 19th century by Italian priest Saint John Bosco to help poor children during the Industrial Revolution. Tarcisio Pietro Evasio Bertone (born 2 December 1934) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church and a Vatican diplomat. A cardinal, he served as Archbishop of Vercelli from 1991 to 1995, as Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Archbishop of Genoa from 2002 to 2006, and as Cardinal Secretary of State from 2006 to 2013.
