Pieces (Chase & Status Song)
"Pieces" is a collaborative single, recorded by British musicians and production team Chase & Status featuring vocals from British rapper Plan B. The single was released on 29 September 2008 as the lead single from Chase & Status' debut studio album, '' More Than Alot''. The track, co-written by Ben Drew (Plan B himself), later went on to feature in Drew's first movie production, ''Ill Manors'', with the music video also appearing on the DVD release. The music video for "Pieces" was directed by Drew, and features Chase & Status and Plan B in the recording studio, recording the track, while Plan B's ex-girlfriend destroys his flat and the trio witness it on CCTV. "Pieces" was released as a double A-side single with the instrumental track "Eastern Jam", which became the following track in ''More Than Alot''. ''Pieces'' () is the eighth extended play by South Korean singer-songwriter IU. It was released on December 29, 2021, through Edam Entertainment. Initially released for digital download and streaming only, the physical CD was included in the DVD/Blu-ray box set of the documentary ''Pieces: 29th Winter'', which was published on March 23, 2022. It was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 Melon Music Awards. Background and release On December 22, 2021, Edam Entertainment released a teaser image for the EP through its social media account. The monochrome image contained books titled like IU's previously released singles, interspersed with colored sheets indicating the period of composition of the songs of the new release. ''Pieces'' (known in Japan as ) is a 1994 puzzle game for the Super NES. It was developed by Prism Kikaku and published by Hori Electric in Japan and by Atlus Software in North America. In the game, the player has to solve jigsaw puzzles. In 2002, the spiritual successor developed by the same company, ''Jigsaw Madness'', was released for the PlayStation. Gameplay The player can face either a computer or up to five human players. The computer players come at three difficulty levels (easy, normal or hard) and feature a wide array of opponents, such as a crab made out of a rice bowl and a beautiful laughing mermaid. A few puzzles must be solved before the opponent's puzzle is solved. If the player is quick enough, items will appear. These can do anything from guiding the puzzle pieces to freezing the opponent. ''Pieces'' is a compilation of alternate takes and outtakes from Stephen Stills’s band Manassas's two albums, 1972’s ''Manassas'' and 1973’s '' Down the Road''. Released in 2009.
