Initial Records
Initial Records was an independent record label in Louisville, Kentucky, that was founded in 1992. The label released music by Falling Forward, Boysetsfire and Ink & Dagger, and created the annual weekend long music festival, Krazy Fest. History Initial was founded in 1992 in a Dunkin' Donuts in suburban Detroit by three high school friends, Dennis Hepinstall, Carolyn Smith and Andy Rich. Their first issue was a re-release of the 7" single from local Detroit based hardcore band Pittbull. Carolyn's interest waned early in the project after her long standing relationship with Dennis ended and she bowed out. Dennis would stick around for another few years while Andy attended the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University. By 1995 Dennis had enough and ended his tenure with the label as well. Mordam
Mordam Records ("More Damn Records") was a California record distribution company for independent record labels. It was founded in San Francisco in 1983 as an independent punk distribution company by Ruth Schwartz (one of the original co-editors of ''Maximum RocknRoll).'' Mordam was the exclusive distributor for dozens of punk rock and independent record labels throughout the 1980s and 90s, gaining a reputation as one of the few "distros" that paid their labels on time. Following the departure of Lookout! Records and Man's Ruin from its distribution network in 2000, Schwartz moved the company to Sacramento. She subsequently sold Mordam outright to Lumberjack Distribution in 2005. It continued as a part of the Lumberjack Mordam Music Group. The Jazz June
The Jazz June is an American emo band from Kutztown, Pennsylvania. In 2016, ''Rolling Stone'' placed the band's album ''The Medicine'' at number 33 on its list of the 40 Greatest Emo Albums of All Time. History The Jazz June was formed in 1996 by students attending Kutztown University. The group recorded its first full-length album in 1997; their first two albums were recorded through Canadian record label Workshop Records. In 1998, the band signed with Initial Records and went on to release three albums through the record label. They disbanded in 2003 after four full-length albums, but reunited for benefit shows in 2006 and the release of an outtakes-and-rarities compilation the following year. |

Harkonen (band)
Harkonen was an American post-hardcore band from Tacoma, Washington, most active between 1997 and 2005. History Harkonen began around 1997 originally as a five-piece that played noisy hardcore similar to artists such as Deadguy and Kiss It Goodbye. Their formative years were tumultuous and keeping a steady line-up proved difficult. After recording their self-titled single in 1997, the band were reduced to a four-piece following the departure of guitarist Chris Vancourt and vocalist Mike Jones, and it marked the addition of vocalist Aaron Connell (formerly of Grip and Christ and later went on to found Himsa and Iamthethorn). Shortly after releasing their single "Hung to Dry", vocalist Aaron Connell and short-lived guitarist Niehl Brady departed, leaving the band a three-piece, with Ben and Bill taking on the vocal role. Elliott is an American Emo band from Louisville, Kentucky. They released three albums and several 7"s in their eight-year career, and were signed to Revelation Records. History Formation and early releases (1995–1998) The group was formed in 1995. ''False Cathedrals'' (2000) 2000's '' False Cathedrals'' was a more polished affair than its predecessor, featuring vocal harmonies and more piano than ''US Songs''. ''False Cathedrals'' is Elliott's most popular release. It was met with critical acclaim by a broad cross-section of the underground rock community. Shortly after the completion of ''False Cathedrals'', Palumbo and Mobley left the group to pursue other musical interests. Despair (band)
Despair is a thrash metal band from Dortmund, Germany. History Original line-up The group was formed in Dortmund in 1986 with Robert Kampf on vocals, Klaus Pachura on bass, Thomas "Donald" König on drums, and Waldemar Sorychta and Marek Greschek on guitar. The following year, they released the demo ''Surviving You Always''. König was replaced shortly after by 16-year-old drummer Markus Freiwald. Kampf launched Century Media Records in 1988 and Despair's ''History of Hate'' was the first album released by the label. In 1989, Andreas Henschel replaced Kampf at the microphone when the latter decided to devote himself to Century Media. The label went on to release the group's other two albums, ''Decay of Humanity'' (1990) and ''Beyond All Reason'' (1992). Criteria (band)
Criteria is an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, formed in 2003 when ex-Cursive founding member Steve Pedersen returned to his hometown after graduating from the Duke University School of Law. He spent six months in a friend's basement where he wrote all ten songs for his new project's debut album. He recruited the help of some old friends, A.J. Mogis (of Presto! Recording Studios and Lullaby for the Working Class) on bass guitar, Aaron Druery on guitar, and Mike Sweeney of Beep Beep on drums. Their first album, ''En Garde'', was released on his previous band's label, Initial Records. Steve Pedersen worked as a lawyer, making it hard for the band to promote their album. Initial Records went bankrupt about a year after, leaving Criteria without a label. Saddle Creek Records took their longtime friend in and put out three releases in 2005. Blue Sky Mile (band)
Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light. The eye perceives blue when observing light with a dominant wavelength between approximately 450 and 495 nanometres. Most blues contain a slight mixture of other colours; azure contains some green, while ultramarine contains some violet.
