Iniciativa De Salud De Las Americas
The Health Initiative of the Americas (HIA; Spanish: ''Iniciativa de Salud de las Américas'', ISA) is a Latino program focusing mainly on migrant and immigrant health issues. It is part of the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). HIA works in collaboration with nine Latin American countries: Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela and Uruguay. History HIA began as the California-Mexico Health Initiative (CMHI) in January 2001 as part of the California Policy Research Center at the University of California. The Initiative was created with the intention to raise awareness about the health challenges Mexican immigrants and migrants face while living in the US and working with them through health promotion and education to improve their health and well-being. Berkeley ( ) is a city on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay in northern Alameda County, California, United States. Diane Watson
Diane Edith Watson (born November 12, 1933) is a former American politician who served as US Representative for , serving from 2003 until 2011, after first being elected in the 32nd District in a 2001 special election. She is a member of the Democratic Party. The district is located entirely in Los Angeles County and includes much of Central Los Angeles, as well as such wealthy neighborhoods as Los Feliz. Ellen O'Kane Tauscher (November 15, 1951 – April 29, 2019) was an American businesswoman, diplomat, and Democratic Party politician who was the U.S. representative for California's 10th congressional district from 1997 to 2009.
