Deep Obsession is a New Zealand group, notable for being the only New Zealand act to have three consecutive No.1 singles in the Official New Zealand Music Chart. History Deep Obsession started recording their debut album in 1997. They signed with the newly merged New Zealand branch of Universal Music in 1998 after their first single - a cover of the Air Supply song " Lost in Love" - was released in 1998 and peaked at No.1 in the New Zealand singles chart. "Lost in Love" is a 1979 song recorded by the Australian soft rock group Air Supply. The song was written by group member Graham Russell. The original version of the song appeared on the ''Life Support'' album in 1979 and was released as a single in Australia, reaching number 13 on the Kent Music Report. The group re-recorded the song for the album of the same name in 1980 and this version was released as a single in the US, reaching number 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. "Cold" is a song by New Zealand pop music group Deep Obsession. It was written by two of the band's three members—Christopher Banks and Zara Clark—and produced by Banks and Australian disc jockey Paul Goodyear. The song was released as the group's second single from their debut studio album, ''Infinity (Deep Obsession album), Infinity'' (1999), almost a year after their previous single, a cover of "Lost in Love (Air Supply song)#Other covers, Lost in Love" by British-Australian soft rock duo Air Supply. Backed with the album track "Would You?" and several remixes as B-sides, "Cold" became the group's second number-one single in New Zealand, topping the Recorded Music NZ, RIANZ Singles Chart on the week of 11 July 1999.
