Infinite Worlds (album)
''Infinite Worlds'' is the debut studio album by Cameroon-born musician Laetitia Tamko, under the stage name Vagabon. Released in February 2017, it would be her last record under the Father/Daughter Records banner, as her self-titled follow-up would be released through Nonesuch Records in 2019. Recorded alongside co-producer, engineer and mixer Chris Daly, the record would expand beyond the lo-fi of Tamko's 2014 EP ''Persian Garden''. Upon its release, the record was greeted with general positivity from music reviewers, with applause going to the songwriting, Tamko's vocals and the record's overall eclectism. It appeared on several year-end lists for 2017. Background 2014 saw self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Laetitia Tamko release a six-song EP titled ''Persian Garden'' via Miscreant Records. Vagabon
Laetitia Tamko, better known by her stage name Vagabon, is a Cameroonian-American self-taught multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and music producer based in New York City. Biography Early life Laetitia Tamko was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. At age 13 her family relocated to New York so her mother could attend law school. Having come from a French-speaking country, Tamko learned to speak English and was soon able to attend Westchester High School. Tamko later attended City College of New York and graduated from the Grove School of Engineering in 2015. Career At age 17, Tamko's parents bought her a Fender acoustic guitar from Costco. She taught herself to play by watching instructional DVDs. In 2014 she started uploading her music to Bandcamp under the pseudonym Vagabon. ''The Seer'' is the twelfth studio album by American experimental music, experimental rock band Swans (band), Swans and was released on August 28, 2012 by Gira's own record label Young God Records. Producer and frontman Michael Gira funded the recording of the album with the sales of ''We Rose from Your Bed with the Sun in Our Head''. While the previous studio album ''My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky'' was seen as a cross between Gira's solo project Angels of Light and Swans discography, late Swans, ''The Seer'' strayed away from Angels of Light's more accessible songs and lyricism, focusing more around sonic landscapes. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members are lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. Strongly influenced by Pavement, Pixies, XTC, and Talking Heads, they rehearsed, rearranged, and recorded demos for almost two years before finally signing with small-town indie label K Records and releasing numerous singles. Noise pop is a subgenre of alternative and indie rock that developed in the mid-1980s in the United Kingdom and United States.
