Indonesian Comedy
Indonesian comedic forms have evolved from folk drama to comedic films and television shows. The most popular form of modern stage comedy in Indonesia is comedy troupes doing skits or sketches. In the film industry and television, the most popular comedy in Indonesia today is stand up comedy, such as that performed by Stand Up Indo. Several TV networks air stand up comedy shows, including Kompas TV with its program ''Stand Up Comedy Indonesia'' (SUCI). After SUCI was introduced, other networks like Metro TV and Indosiar have likewise introduced comedy shows. History At the beginning of the 20th century, pop comedy groups or comedies of nobility emerged in Indonesia. One of these, stambul comedy, is a form of Indonesian folk drama that incorporates Malay cultural influences in the stories told and the language used. Kompas TV
Kompas TV is a national terrestrial private news television network in Indonesia. It is owned by the KG Media unit of Kompas Gramedia Group and is named after its flagship property, the ''Kompas'' daily newspaper. Kompas TV was founded in around 2008 and was launched on 9 September 2011 with ''Simfoni Semesta Raya's'' performance. Kompas TV's current slogan is "Independent, Reliable" ( id, Independen, Terpercaya). On 28 January 2016, Kompas TV was relaunched as a news-oriented network. Networks Hours before the maiden broadcast, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission issued a statement that Kompas TV did not have a broadcasting license. Benyamin Sueb
Benyamin Sueb (often written Benyamin S. or called Bang Ben; 5 March 19395 September 1995) was an Indonesian comedian, actor and singer. He released 46 studio albums and starred in more than 50 films. He received two Citra Awards for ''Intan Berduri'' in 1973 and ''Si Doel Anak Modern'' in 1975. Early life Benyamin was born in Kemayoran, Batavia, on 5 March 1939. His parents were Suaeb and Aisyah. His father's real name was Sukirman, but changed to Suaeb since he lived in Batavia. At the age of two, Benyamin's father died. Later on, he was permitted to be a street performer. In 1946, he studied at Bendungan Jago Elementary School. Djuhri Masdjan, better known as Jojon, (5 June 1947 – 6 March 2014), was a veteran Indonesian comedian. Dika Angkasaputra Moerwani Nasution (born 28 December 1984), known as Raditya Dika, is an Indonesian author, actor, movie director, and social media personality. He became famous as a ''comedian'' and represented stand-up comedy in the Indonesian television program. ''Menculik Miyabi'' (Indonesian for ''Kidnapping Miyabi'') is a 2010 Indonesian comedy film directed by Findo Purwono HW and produced by Ody Mulya Hidayat. Starring Sabrina Pai and Nicky Tirta, the film follows a young man who is obsessed with AV idol Maria Ozawa and, in an attempt to kidnap her, accidentally kidnaps a Taiwanese tourist.
