Indonesian Air Force
The Indonesian Air Force ( id, Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU), literally "''Indonesian National Military-Air Force''") sometimes shortened as IDAF / IdAF, is the aerial branch of the Indonesian National Armed Forces. The Indonesian Air Force is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia and is headed by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force ( id, Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara – KSAU or KASAU). Its order of battle is split into three Air Operations Commands ( id, Komando Operasi Udara). Most of its airbases are located on the island of Java. The Indonesian Air Force also has its ground force unit, called Air Force Quick Reaction Force Command (Kopasgat). Communist Insurgency In Sarawak
The communist insurgency in Sarawak occurred in Malaysia from 1962 to 1990, and involved the North Kalimantan Communist Party and the Malaysian Government. It was one of the two Communist insurgencies to challenge the former British colony of Malaysia during the Cold War. As with the earlier Malayan Emergency (1948–1960), the Sarawak Communist insurgents were predominantly ethnic Chinese, who opposed to British rule over Sarawak and later opposed the merger of the state into the newly created Federation of Malaysia. The insurgency was triggered by the 1962 Brunei Revolt, which had been instigated by the left-wing Brunei People's Party in opposition to the proposed formation of Malaysia. The Sarawak Communist insurgents were also supported by Indonesia until 1965 when the pro-Western President Suharto assumed power and ended the confrontation with Malaysia. Air Chief Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo (born 9 April 1966) is an Indonesian air chief marshal who is currently Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force. Career Fadjar was born in Jakarta on 9 April 1966 and graduated from the Indonesian Air Force Academy in 1988. He began his air force career as an A-4 Skyhawk pilot between 1990 and 1995 at Hasanuddin Air Base, then was reassigned to Halim Air Base where he became an aviation officer aboard Fokker F28 and Boeing 707 planes. He then piloted a Boeing 737 Afterwards, he was assigned to the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia as a defense attache for air force. Air chief marshal (Air Chf Mshl or ACM) is a high-ranking air officer originating from the Royal Air Force. The rank is used by air forces of many countries that have historical British influence. An air chief marshal is equivalent to an Admiral in a navy or a full general in an army or other nations' air forces. The rank of air chief marshal is immediately senior to the rank of air marshal but subordinate to marshal of the air force. Air chief marshals are sometimes generically considered to be air marshals. Operation Madago Raya
Operation Madago Raya ( id, Operasi Madago Raya), previously known as Operation Tinombala, is a joint police–military operation conducted by the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian Armed Forces to capture and/or eliminate members of Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT), an Indonesian terrorist group which supports Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIL and was commanded by Abu Wardah, Santoso. In 2016, the Indonesian military and police succeeded in killing Santoso, but the then Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Chief of the National Police Tito Karnavian continued the operation to ensure the region's safety from the remaining members of the group. Central Sulawesi governor Longki Djanggola praised the operation for its relatively humane methods, since several leaders of the group were successfully captured alive.
