Indonesia At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Indonesia competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were rescheduled for 23 July to 8 August 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's sixteenth appearance at the Summer Olympics. At the Games, Indonesia sent 28 athletes; the similar total with 2016 Summer Olympics. It consisted of 16 men and 12 women, competing in 8 sports. Twenty-five Indonesians had qualified to compete, while two swimmers and one female sprinter obtained their spots through wild card entries. In this edition, surfing made its Olympic debut (as new sport) by Rio Waida, who became the nation's ''de facto'' flag bearer at the opening ceremony. Indonesian Olympic Committee ( id, Komite Olimpiade Indonesia, abbreviate: KOI) is the national Olympic committee of Indonesia and the member of Olympic Council of Asia. Their duty is to organize Indonesian participation in international sporting events, such as Summer Olympic Games, Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games, etc. As well as submitting bid for Indonesia as the host, planning and organizing official international sporting events to be held in Indonesia. Mohammad Ahsan
Mohammad Ahsan (born 7 September 1987) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club who specializes in the men's doubles. He is three-time World Champion, three-time season ending finals champion, and Asian Games gold medalist. Joining the Djarum club since 2007, opened Ahsan's opportunity to join the Indonesian national team until he finally implemented it in the middle of 2008. Paired with Bona Septano, they managed to win the bronze medal at the 2011 BWF World Championships, and were ranked as high as sixth in the BWF World Rankings. Apriyani Rahayu (born 29 April 1998) is an Indonesian badminton player specializing in doubles. She and Greysia Polii are the reigning Olympic champions in the women's doubles following their win at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The archery events at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place in Yumenoshima Park. Five events were planned with a mixed team event staged for the first time. Qualification There were 128 qualifying places available for archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics: 64 for men and 64 for women.
