The India women's national under-18 volleyball team represents India in women's under-18 volleyball events, it is controlled and managed by the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) that is a member of Asian volleyball body Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the international volleyball body government the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) is the governing body of volleyball in India. History The Volleyball Federation of India was formed in the year 1951. Prior to the formation of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), the game was controlled by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and at that time the Interstate Volleyball Championship was held every two years from 1936 to 1950 for men only. The first Championship was held in the year 1936 at Lahore (now in Pakistan). In 1951, the Volleyball Federation of India was formed and its first meeting was held in Ludhiana (Punjab). 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship is the sixteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship, contested by the women's national teams under the age of 18 of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Egypt from 5 to 14 September 2019. Egypt were chosen as the hosts for this event for the first time. The finals involve 20 teams, of which 19 came through qualifying competitions, while the host nation qualified automatically. Of the 20 teams, 13 had also appeared in the previous tournament in 2017, while Cameroon and DR Congo made their first appearances at a FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship. The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship was the fifteenth edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for women's national teams under the age of 18, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB. The tournament was hosted by Argentina in the cities of Rosario and Santa Fe from 18 to 27 August 2017. 20 teams from the 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Italy won its second title in the competition, after also winning the previous edition, defeating Dominican Republic in the final. Russia defeated Turkey for the bronze medal.
