India (Vega Album)
''India'' is the first studio album by Spanish singer Vega, released on 7 November 2003 on Vale Music Spain. History This album represents her success after having sold more than 200.000 copies of her first single " Quiero Ser Tú" (Spanish for "I Want to Be You"), which was a task to be accomplished before being entitled to a recording contract. The album itself sold more than 110.000 copies in Spain alone. The country, India, has always been an inspiration to Vega, and that is why she decided to name her album after it. All but two songs on the album, " That's Life" ( Frank Sinatra cover) and "Believe" (K's Choice K's Choice is a Belgian rock band from Antwerp, formed in the mid-1990s. Vega (singer)
Mercedes Mígel Carpio (born 18 February 1979, in Córdoba, Spain), better known as Vega, is a Spanish singer-songwriter. Her interest in music started when she was a child. She studied Advertising and Public Relations in Segovia, where she also worked as a waitress. She left her university career to be a contestant in Operación Triunfo 2002, her springboard to fame. Her musical style can be defined as the classical Spanish canción de autor or singer-songwriter, but it shows influences of Frank Sinatra, K's Choice and Los Planetas. Career Vega did reasonably well in Operacion Triunfo, but was not one of the finalists. At the end of the series, each contestant not in the final was asked to release their own original 'single'. This was a smart move by the programme makers, as it introduced a further element of competition: contestants who sold more than 200,000 copies of their single won a recording contract for a debut album. Lunae was a short-lived Spanish pop group built upon the success of ''Operación Triunfo (Spain), Operación Triunfo'' a reality show talent contest popular on Spain's Televisión Española, TVE network. The band was composed by putting together singers that were not given the chance to pursue a solo career after the show, and was composed of Tessa Bodi, Tessa (born 7 November 1982), Elena Gadel (born 11 November 1982) and Marey (singer), Marey (born 19 December 1983) In the summer of 2003, their debut single 'Hipnotizadas' (produced by Xenomania) was a minor summertime hit across Spain, and it was used in a Pringles advertisement tie-in. Elena Gadel (born 12 November 1982) is a Spanish singer. She placed eleventh in Operación Triunfo (Spain), Operacion Triunfo 2. Her debut single in 2002, ''Es Por Ti'', claimed the number four slot on the Spanish charts, and in 2003, she had success in the pop group Lunae. In 2005, she starred in the ''catalonia, Catalan'' musical ''Mar i Cel'', for which she was awarded best actress at the Spanish Theatre Awards. In 2022, she was part of the jury of the TV3 (Catalonia), TV3 show ''Eufòria''. She was, too, in the second edition, that took place the following year. K's Choice is a Belgian rock band from Antwerp, formed in the mid-1990s. The band's core members are brothers Sam Bettens (lead vocals, guitar) and Gert Bettens (guitar, keyboard, vocals). "That's Life" is a popular song written by Dean Kay and Kelly Gordon and first recorded in 1963 by Marion Montgomery. The song has an uplifting message that, despite the ups and downs in life, one should not give up but keep positive, because soon one will be ''"back on top"''. Pop Rock
