AS Biton is a Malian football club based in Ségou. They play in the Malian Second Division, with their last appearance in the Premiere Division coming in the 2006/07 season. Bajourou
Bajourou (meaning 'big strings' or 'big tune') is the name given to a strain of Malian (Mali) pop music usually played at weddings and social gatherings. Though now predominantly electric, its roots were in 60s acoustic music that borrowed patterns from the kora and the donsongoni (a hunting harp/guitar) and transferred them to acoustic guitars. Lyrics moved away from the usual Manding praise songs to more secular, romantic concerns, mainly sung by women like Fanta Sacko who did much to develop and spread the music. Mamadou Bagayoko
Mamadou Bagayoko (born 21 May 1979) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Born in France, he represented Mali at international level. Club career Bagayoko was born in Paris. His debut at senior level came in 1999 for RC Strasbourg. He moved to AC Ajaccio in August 2003 and was seen as an integral figure in helping to keep the club in Ligue 1 that season. Nantes signed him for around €1.3 million in July 2004 as a replacement for Marama Vahirua on a four-year contract but ended up moving on loan to OGC Nice in July 2005, helping them reach the final of the French League Cup which they lost 2–1 to Nancy. In November 2010 he had a trial at Wolverhampton Wanderers. On 23 December 2011, it was confirmed that Bagayoko would be joining Doncaster Rovers. Issa Bagayogo
Issa Bagayogo (1961 – 10 October 2016) was a Malian musician. He released four full-length albums all under the record label Six Degrees Records. Bagayogo lent his voice and played the kamele n'goni (a six-stringed West African instrument similar to a banjo) while Yves Wernert was the producer and keyboardist. Bagayogo died after a long illness on 10 October 2016. Amadou Hampâté Bâ
Amadou Hampâté Bâ ( ff, 𞤀𞤸𞤥𞤢𞤣𞤵 𞤖𞤢𞤥𞤨𞤢𞥄𞤼𞤫 𞤄𞤢𞥄, Ahmadu Hampaate Baa, 1900/1901 – 15 May 1991) was a Malian writer, historian and ethnologist. Ibrahima Aya (born 10 October 1967 in Goundam, Mali) is a Malian writer. Biography Ibrahima Aya studied agronomy in the Moldavian SSR. He became an agronomist, notable for an integrated lake development project, and a consultant for the organisation for Malian aid and development, Aide et Développement au Mali. Since 2001, he has worked as an independent consultant. In addition to his development work Ibrahima Aya devotes himself to writing.
