Inder "Gogi" Singh (25 February 1944 – 19 August 2001) was an Indian hockey player who represented India in the 1968 Summer Olympics. Nicknamed "Gogi", Singh was born in Faridkot, India. He Married Gianna Fissore, an Italian citizen. Singh settled in Italy after relinquishing his job in the Railways. His wife, Gianna, was also a national-level hockey player of her country. After emigrating to Italy he played a major role in establishing a hockey club in Bra, Piedmont. Their daughter, Jasbeer Singh plays for the Italy women's national field hockey team The Italy women's national field hockey team represents Italy in international field hockey competitions. Inder Singh (footballer)
Inder Singh (born 23 December 1943) is an Indian former football player and captain, manager and administrator. He played for Leaders Club (Jalandhar), JCT Mills and the Indian national team as a forward. He began his senior professional career with Leaders Club in 1962 and moved to JCT Mills in 1974. Playing for Punjab in the Santosh Trophy, he finished the 1974–75 tournament with 23 goals, a record that still stands. He was included in the Asian All Stars XI team in 1967 and 1968. He retired as a player in 1985. He had a successful managerial career with Mills from 1985 to 2001, following which he was associated with Mills as an administrator from 2001 to 2011. In 1969, he received the Arjuna Award, in recognition of his contribution to Indian football. Nicknamed "bullet train" by the Japanese for his speed on football field, Singh stuck to his roots and played for the country, declining the offer of representing Malaysia in 1973. Inder Singh (October 1, 1932 – September 27, 2019) was a writer and active community leader. Starting in his local community and later moving to the national and then to the global arena, he spent a lifetime bringing the Indian community together. He was hailed as a social entrepreneur. He helped network the global Indian Diaspora through education and outreach. He lobbied extensively for the issues faced by the Indian diaspora. He rallied the support from his community and government leaders to ensure that the Indian diaspora is well represented in their new countries. Mr. Singh was the chairman of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO). He also co-founded the Asian & Pacific American Republicans Coalition which became an officially chartered organ of the California Republican Party.
