Independent Alliance For Reform
The Independent Alliance for Reform ( cy, Y Gynghrair Annibynnol dros Ddiwygio) was a political group in the Senedd. It was founded in October 2020, and had three members. The party was dissolved in 2021 when all three of its Senedd Members lost their seats in that year's election. Membership The following Members of the Senedd were part of the group: * Caroline Jones * David Rowlands * Mandy Jones All were former members of UKIP and then of the Brexit Party. The group's leader was Caroline Jones, who was an independent, whilst David Rowlands and Mandy Jones were still members of Reform UK, formerly known as the Brexit Party. Caroline Jones (politician)
Caroline Yvonne Jones (born 1 April 1955) is a Welsh politician who was a Member of the Senedd (MS) for South Wales West from 2016 to 2021. A former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in the Senedd, Jones served as a UKIP Senedd Member from 2016 to 2018 when she left the party to sit as an independent. In May 2019 she joined the newly formed Brexit Party group in the Senedd. She later became independent again after disagreements with the party on its newly adopted anti-devolution policy. She joined the Independent Alliance for Reform group in October 2020. Education She was educated at Y Pant School and Glamorgan College of Education. Reform UK
Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. It was founded with support from Nigel Farage in November 2018 as the Brexit Party, advocating hard Euroscepticism and a no-deal Brexit, and was briefly a significant political force in 2019. After Brexit, it was renamed to Reform UK in January 2021, and became primarily an anti-lockdown party during the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, in December 2022, it began campaigning on broader right-wing populist themes during the British cost-of-living crisis. UKIP
The UK Independence Party (UKIP; ) is a Eurosceptic, right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. The party reached its greatest level of success in the mid-2010s, when it gained two members of Parliament and was the largest party representing the UK in the European Parliament. David Rowlands (politician)
David John Rowlands is a Welsh politician, who was a Member of the Senedd (MS) for South Wales East from 2016 to 2021. Elected as an MS for the UK Independence Party (UKIP), Rowlands joined the Brexit Party in 2019. He joined the Independent Alliance for Reform in October 2020. Biography Born in the Welsh mining town of Argoed, he was educated at Pontllanfraith Grammar School obtaining A Levels in economics and geography before studying for a degree in business studies. Rowlands joined UKIP in 1998. Formerly a UK Independence Party (UKIP) Assembly Member, Rowlands resigned to join the Brexit Party in May 2019.
