"In the Mood" is a song by the Canadian rock band Rush from their 1974 debut album ''Rush''. It was at least two years old when recorded for the album. Composition "In the Mood" is three minutes and 34 seconds long. The song was composed in the key of A major and is in 4/4 time. It is the only song on the album written entirely by Geddy Lee (the music on all other songs is co-written by guitarist Alex Lifeson). Lee said that this was the first song he wrote with Lifeson that they "kind of liked". Lifeson said It "was probably at least two years old, if not three, when we recorded the first album". He also said: "Ged came in and said, 'I've got a good idea for a song' and played it from beginning to end". Rush (band)
Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in 1968 in Toronto, that was comprised primarily of Geddy Lee (bass, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (drums, percussion, lyricist). The band formed in Toronto in 1968 by Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bass guitarist/vocalist Jeff Jones, who was immediately replaced by Lee. After Lee joined, the band went through several lineup configurations before arriving at its classic power trio lineup with the addition of Peart in July 1974, who replaced Rutsey four months after the release of their 1974 self-titled debut album; this lineup remained intact for the remainder of the band's career. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. ''All the World's a Stage'' is a double live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1976. The album was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto on June 11, 12, and 13, 1976, during the band's breakthrough '' 2112'' tour. The title of the album alludes to William Shakespeare's play '' As You Like It'', which would again be referenced by Rush in the 1981 song " Limelight". Content According to lead vocalist and bassist Geddy Lee, the release of a live album in late 1976 "was definitely something we used to buy us more time" as Rush worked on the studio followup to their commercial breakthrough album '' 2112'', released earlier that same year. John Rutsey
John Howard Rutsey (July 23, 1952 – May 11, 2008) was a Canadian musician best known as a founding member and original drummer of Rush (band), Rush. He performed on the band's 1974 Rush (Rush album), debut album, but left shortly after its release due to health problems which limited his ability to tour with the band. He was subsequently replaced by Neil Peart, who would remain the drummer of Rush on the band's future recordings and for the rest of its active history.
