''In the Land Of'' is the seventh album by Canadian indie rock band Wintersleep, released on March 19, 2019 through Dine Alone Records. The band began working on the album a year after releasing their previous effort ''The Great Detachment''. They teamed up with renowned producer Tony Doogan who also produced ''Welcome to the Night Sky'' and ''New Inheritors'' during months of 2018 and tracked the album at studios in Montreal, Kingston and Toronto. The band released first single "Surrender" in late 2018, and the rest of the album's singles, "Beneficiary", "Forest Fire" and "Into the Shape of Your Heart", followed in early 2019. Following the album's release date, Dine Alone Records announced a limited issue of "splatter" coloured vinyl LPs for sale via their website. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Tony Doogan
Tony Doogan is a Scottish record producer who runs Castle of Doom Studios in Glasgow. He is perhaps best known for his work with Mogwai and Belle & Sebastian. He has also worked with numerous other artists, including Teenage Fanclub, the Delgados, Wintersleep, Els Amics de les Arts, Hefner, Oohyo and the Young Knives on their album '' Superabundance''. He began working on sound recordings when he was 14, helping the PA guy at his local church with the amateur shows being performed there. He has also collaborated with producer Dave Fridmann, whom he originally met when working on the Delgados' album '' The Great Eastern'', on Wintersleep's album ''Hello Hum''. Dine Alone Records is a Canadian and American independent record label, founded in St. Catharines and Toronto by Joel Carriere. The label is now based in Toronto, Nashville and Los Angeles. History Dine Alone was born out of founder Joel Carriere's home in St. Catharines, Ontario. After years working various positions in the Canadian music industry and building his own cultural website and promotional company, Carriere launched Dine Alone Records in 2005. ''New Inheritors'' is the fourth album by Canadian indie rock band Wintersleep, released on May 17, 2010, in Europe, and in North America on May 18. The band began working on the album in September 2009. The mixing process finished in January 2010, and the masters were done by February. Several songs that are featured on the album were played live throughout 2009 and 2010, including "Encyclopedia", "Baltic", "Black Camera", "Experience the Jewel", and "Blood Collection". The song "Black Camera" was made available for streaming, while the title track, "New Inheritors", was released as a free download in March 2010. Therevox
Therevox builds custom musical instruments in Ontario, Canada. The company focuses on continuous-pitch instruments and is known for building a modern analog synthesizer inspired by the rare Ondes Martenot. First commissioned in 2004 to build modern version of the Electro-Theremin as used by The Beach Boys on their 1966 single "Good Vibrations", only 12 of these instruments went to musicians and studios in North America and Europe. In 2010, Therevox was commissioned by Montreal's Breakglass Studio to design a new instrument that would combine the Ondes Martenot's ''au ruban'' and ''touche d’intensité'' interface with a dual oscillator analog synthesizer similar to the MiniMoog.
