In My Mind's Eye
''In My Mind's Eye'' is a concert performance video released by the British group Tears For Fears. It was recorded in December 1983 at the London Hammersmith Odeon (now the Hammersmith Apollo), and released on home video in October 1984. The band had been touring the UK and internationally throughout much of 1983, promoting their debut album ''The Hurting'' which went to no.1 in the UK and contained three UK Top 5 hit singles. In November 1983, they released a brand new single, " The Way You Are", and finished a successful year with another UK tour to promote it. The band also performed most of the tracks from ''The Hurting'' as well as the instrumental B-side to "The Way You Are" entitled "The Marauders". Ironically, "The Way You Are" and "The Marauders" were not featured on the video release, despite being the primary reason for the tour itself. Tears For Fears
Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, Tears for Fears were associated with the new wave synthesizer bands of the early 1980s, and attained international chart success. The band's debut album, ''The Hurting'' (1983), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, and their first three hit singles – "Mad World", "Change", and "Pale Shelter" – all reached the top five in the UK Singles Chart. Part of the MTV-driven Second British Invasion of the US, their second album, ''Songs from the Big Chair'' (1985), reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' 200, achieving multi-platinum status in both the UK and the US. Ross Cullum (born 1957 in Fulham, London, England) is an English composer, record producer, songwriter, mixer, A&R and music industry consultant. Career Cullum became an assistant at George Martin's AIR Studios, where he worked on recordings by Roxy Music, Kate Bush, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Jeff Beck and others. Neil Taylor (guitarist)
Neil Taylor (born 26 January 1961) is an English guitarist, best known for his long-time affiliation with Robbie Williams and for formerly being a member of Tears for Fears. Career Taylor started playing in local bands in his youth before joining Neon (British band), Neon as a session musician in the early 1980s. During this time he met Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal who, after founding Tears for Fears, asked Taylor to tour with them and play guitar tracks for their second album, ''Songs from the Big Chair'' (1985), and their third ''The Seeds of Love'' (1989). Stackridge
Stackridge were a British rock group which had their greatest success in the early 1970s. History Classic period Stackridge Lemon were formed from the remains of a previous band, Grytpype Thynne, by Andy Davis and James "Crun" Walter during 1969 in the Bristol/ Bath area of South West England. After initial experimentation, the word ''Lemon'' was dropped from the band's name. The band played their first London gig at The Temple in Wardour Street on 6 February 1970. They were the opening and closing act at the first Glastonbury Festival between 19 September and 20 September 1970. Jerome David Marotta (born February 6, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American drummer who resides in Woodstock, New York. He is the younger brother of Rick Marotta, who is also a drummer and composer. Manny Elias
Manny Elias (born 21 February 1953) is an Indian drummer and record producer of British descent. He is notable for being the original drummer with Tears for Fears during the 1980s. Originally a member of the rock band Interview from Bathford, Somerset, Elias began working with Tears for Fears in 1981 and drummed on the albums ''The Hurting'' and ''Songs from the Big Chair'', as well as participating in their subsequent tours. Elias is credited as an official member of Tears for Fears on those two albums, and appears in six of the band's promotional videos from that era. In addition to that, he has co-writing credits on "The Way You Are" and "The Working Hour". Roland Orzabal
Roland Orzabal (born Roland Jaime Orzabal de la Quintana; 22 August 1961) is a British musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and author. He is best known as a co-founder of Tears for Fears, of which he is the main songwriter and joint vocalist. Orzabal has been the only constant member of the band, having appeared on every Tears for Fears studio album. He has also achieved success as a producer of artists such as Oleta Adams. In 2014, Orzabal published his first novel, a romantic comedy. Early life Orzabal was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire. He was initially raised in nearby Havant.
