Produced through the Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre under the Movie Furnace project, the movie won the best film in the competition's second season. Usama Mukwaya
Usama () "Osam" Nyanzi Mukwaya (born 12 December 1989) is a Ugandan screenwriter, film director, producer, actor and former television host. His major films include ''Bala Bala Sese'', directed by Lukyamuzi Bashir with which Mukwaya is credited as the film's writer and producer. The film was nominated at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Film in an African Language. He launched his filmmaking career with the short film ''Hello'' that won overall best film in the 2010 MNFPAC Students Awards. His directorial debut is ''Love Faces'' which was released in January 2018. From 2018-2022, Usama served as chief content officer for Stream Afrique, a subscription-based streaming platform which offers online streaming of majorly African content. Mariam Ndagire
Mariam Ndagire (born 16 May 1971), is a Ugandan singer, entertainer, actress, playwright, film director, and film producer. Beginnings and education She was born in Kampala, Uganda's capital city, to Sarah Nabbutto and Buganda's Prince Kizito Ssegamwenge. She attended ''Buganda Road Primary School'', before transferring to ''Kampala High School'', where she completed her O-level education. For her A-Level studies, she attended Trinity College Nabbingo, in Wakiso District, where she graduated with a High School Diploma. She went on to obtain a Higher Diploma in Marketing from Makerere University Business School in Nakawa. Movie Furnace (Tanuulu) is a Uganda-based non-profit short film competition, for Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre alumni (MNFPAC) founded by Mariam Ndagire. Pearl International Film Festival
The Pearl International Film Festival (PIFF), is an annual film festival held in Kampala, Uganda. It has been described as one of the biggest film events in Uganda. PIFF is a non-governmental organization founded by Moses Magezi and established in 2011 to develop and promote film and other cultural industries as catalyst for the regional social and economic growth.
