In Another World (Cheap Trick Album)
''In Another World'' is the twentieth studio album by American rock band Cheap Trick, released on April 9, 2021. Background The album's first single, "The Summer Looks Good on You", was released on May 18, 2018. Though no official release date was announced, the album was initially due for release at the end of 2018 but was ultimately not released that year. The second single, a cover of John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth", was released on November 29, 2019. The album was completed by 2020 but its release was further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On January 28, 2021, a third single, "Light Up the Fire", was released alongside an announcement of the album's title, tracklist, and the April 9 release date. Later, on March 11, 2021, a fourth single called "Boys & Girls & Rock N Roll" was released. Later, the song was played live on ''The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'' on the album's release date. Gimme Some Truth
"Gimme Some Truth" (originally spelled "Give Me Some Truth") is a protest song written and performed by John Lennon. It was first released on his 1971 album ''Imagine (John Lennon album), Imagine''. "Gimme Some Truth" contains various political references emerging from the time it was written, during the latter years of the Vietnam War. Co-produced by Phil Spector, the recording includes a slide guitar solo played by George Harrison, Lennon's former bandmate in the Beatles. In 1982, "Gimme Some Truth" was issued as the B-side of "Love (John Lennon song), Love" on a posthumous single. The song provided the title track for the 2000 documentary film ''Gimme Some Truth: The Making of John Lennon's Imagine Album''. Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1973 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, lead vocalist Robin Zander and drummer Bun E. Carlos. The current lineup of the band consists of Zander, Nielsen and Petersson. Cheap Trick released their self-titled debut album in 1977 and, later that year, found success in Japan with the release of their second album, '' In Color''. The band would achieve mainstream popularity in the United States in 1979 with their breakthrough album ''Cheap Trick at Budokan''. Ted Jensen (born September 19, 1954) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered many recordings, including the Eagles' ''Hotel California'', Green Day's '' American Idiot'' and Norah Jones' ''Come Away with Me''. Biography Ted Jensen was born to Carl and Margaret (Anning) Jensen, both of whom were musicians. Carl had studied at Yale University. Stephen Philip Jones (born 3 September 1955) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of the rock band Sex Pistols. Following the split of the Sex Pistols, he formed the Professionals with former bandmate Paul Cook. He has released two solo albums, and worked with Johnny Thunders, Iggy Pop, Cheap Trick, Bob Dylan and Thin Lizzy. Jimmy Hall (born April 26, 1949) is the American lead singer and harmonica player for the Southern rock group, Wet Willie. Hall was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and reared in Mobile, Alabama. He first gained notoriety in 1970 as the lead vocalist, saxophonist and harmonica player for Wet Willie. The band’s R&B-infused rock and roll style propelled its biggest hit, “ Keep On Smilin’,” into the Top 10 on the Billboard singles chart in 1974. Tom Petersson
Thomas John Peterson, better known as Tom Petersson, is an American musician who is best known for being the bass guitar player for the rock band Cheap Trick. Career Before joining Cheap Trick, Petersson played in a number of bands, including the Bol Weevils, the Grim Reapers, Sick Man of Europe, and Fuse. He started out playing electric guitar, but soon switched to bass. His professional career has been closely entwined with Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen since the Grim Reapers in 1967, and the two co-founded Cheap Trick in 1974.
