Delhi Cricket Team
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. Strike rate refers to two different statistics in the sport of cricket. Batting strike rate is a measure of how quickly a batter achieves the primary goal of batting, namely scoring runs, measured in runs per 100 balls; higher is better. Bowling strike rate is a measure of how quickly a bowler achieves the primary goal of bowling, namely taking wickets (i.e. getting batters out)measured in balls per wicket; lower is better. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a domestic T-20 cricket championship in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), among the teams from the Ranji Trophy. Yashpal Singh (born 27 November 1981, in Delhi, India, Delhi, India), is an Indian cricketer who plays for Sikkim in domestic cricket. After 44 first class cricket, first class games, the right-handed middle order batsman boasted an average of over 60. He is prolific in the one day format of the game as well, maintaining an average of over 50 after 1000 plus runs. He made his First Class Debut against Delhi in 2001/02 and made two half centuries against an established bowling lineup consisting of Amit Bhandari, Sarandeep Singh and Rahul Sanghvi. The Punjab cricket team is a first-class cricket team that represents the Indian state of Punjab. They have qualified for only one Ranji Trophy semi-final in the last five seasons and made it to the final in the 2004–05 tournament, where they lost to Railways in the first innings.
