Illit Transport Ltd. ( he, עילית קווי תחבורה בע"מ) was an Israeli bus company that operated in Beitar Illit. Illit was merged into Kavim in 2011, but Illit is still used as a brand for the Beitar Illit routes. According to its official website, Illit was founded in 2005, winning its first tender to begin operations in 2006. It replaced 'Betar Tours', which had provided bus service to the city previously. Beitar Illit ( he, בֵּיתָר עִלִּית; officially Betar Illit; "Illit" is pronounced "ee-leet"; ar, بيتار عيليت) is an Haredi Jewish-Israeli settlement organized as a city council in the Gush Etzion settlement bloc, southwest of Jerusalem in the West Bank. Beitar Illit is one of Israel's largest and most rapidly growing settlements, and in had a population of . The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this. Name Beitar Illit (lit. Kavim
Kavim () is an Israeli bus company based in Holon. It was founded in 2000 and provided lines in the eastern Gush Dan region - the towns/cities Kiryat Ono, Petah Tikva, Or Yehuda, Givatayim and others. In February 2005, Kavim expanded to the north, where it started providing bus lines in Afula, Bet She'an and the Nazareth area. In 2006, more routes are planned in Petah Tikva and Rosh HaAyin. Many of Kavim's current routes were transferred from the Dan Bus Company. In 2011, the bus company Illit was merged with Kavim. In 2012, Kavim won the tender for the Heshmonaim cluster which includes the cities Ramla, Lod and Modi'in, and the tender for cluster of regional bus routes in the Netanya Hadera area.
