Iliya Valov
Iliya Valov ( bg, Илия Вълов; born 29 December 1961 in Knezha) is a Bulgarian former football goalkeeper who played for Bulgaria. Career Valov made 180 appearances for Botev Vratsa from 1981 to 1988. He was the number two goalkeeper to Borislav Mihaylov in Bulgaria's squad at Mexico 86. He made a total of 31 caps with the national team. During his career he saved 12 penalty kicks in the top division of Bulgarian football. Knezha
Knezha ( bg, Кнежа, ) is a town in Pleven Province, Northern Bulgaria. It is the administrative center of the homonymous Knezha Municipality. History The town's name is most probably derived from the Slavic word '' knyaz'' ("prince, duke"), most likely after a local ruler that defended the population in the area during the Ottoman rule of Bulgaria. Knezha is the third-largest town in the province, after Pleven and Cherven Bryag, and is the administrative centre of a municipality. The town was located in Vratsa province until 2001, when a boundary change shifted the town into Pleven province. A local landmark is the steel Christian cross constructed on a hill overlooking the town. The cross' construction was financed entirely by donations. Plamen Markov
Plamen Markov (born 11 September 1957) is a Bulgarian retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder for clubs in Bulgaria and France. He represented the Bulgaria national team at international level. Playing career Markov was born in Sevlievo. He played for the Bulgaria national team on 32 occasions, including a match in the 1986 World Cup against Argentina. In June 1985 he moved from CSKA Sofia to join French club FC Metz, playing 87 matches for them. After the 1986–87 season he transferred to Grenoble. He retired as a player in 1990. Coaching career His first coaching job came with Grenoble, and he was later in charge at his former club, CSKA Sofia, but he was sacked in 1995.
