''Cogli la prima mela'' is an album of the Italian singer-songwriter Angelo Branduardi. It was released in 1979 by Polydor. The title track is a re-imagining of a medieval Hungarian melody, entitled "U naseho Barty". Also the music of "Donna ti voglio cantare" is based on a medieval melody by Pierre Attaingnant, entitled "Tourdion", which Branduardi himself recorded for his later album '' Futuro antico II''. The lyrics to "La raccolta" ("The harvesting") are taken from a poem by Sappho, while the music is from the Romanian folk ballad "M-am suit in dealul clujului". Angelo Branduardi
Angelo Branduardi (born 12 February 1950) is an Italian folk/folk rock singer-songwriter and composer who scored relative success in Italy and European countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Greece. Biography Branduardi was born in Cuggiono, a small town in the province of Milan, but early moved with the family to Genoa. He was educated as a classical violinist in the Genoa music conservatory, Niccolò Paganini. At the age of 18, he composed the music for the ''Confessioni di un malandrino'' (''Hooligan's Confession'') by Sergei Yesenin. He is married to Luisa Zappa, who wrote the lyrics for many of his songs. They have two daughters, Sarah and Maddalena, both musicians. A French edition, entitled , was released in 1979; an English edition, entitled ''Fables and Fantasies'' and with lyrics written by Peter Sinfield, was released in 1980. The title track, "" is based on a Native American legend reported and adapted by Jaime de Angulo about a man falling ill because his shadow has been stolen by a water flea. Pierre Attaingnant (or Attaignant) (c. 1494 – late 1551 or 1552) was a French Music publisher (sheet music), music publisher, active in Paris. A Futuro house, or Futuro Pod, is a round, prefabricated house designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, of which fewer than 100 were built during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The shape, reminiscent of a flying saucer, and the structure's airplane hatch entrance has made the houses sought after by collectors. Sappho
Sappho (; el, Σαπφώ ''Sapphō'' ; Aeolic Greek ''Psápphō''; c. 630 – c. 570 BC) was an Archaic Greek poet from Eresos or Mytilene on the island of Lesbos. Sappho is known for her Greek lyric, lyric poetry, written to be sung while accompanied by music. In ancient times, Sappho was widely regarded as one of the greatest lyric poets and was given names such as the "Tenth Muse" and "The Poetess".
