Il Coraggio
''Il coraggio'' is a 1955 Italian comedy film directed by Domenico Paolella. Plot Commendatore Aristide Paoloni is a man all of a piece, strong and brave, who prides himself on saving lives. His specialty is to avoid drowning suicides that are thrown into the Tiber from the Milvian Bridge in Rome, and so one day Aristide saves the poor Gennaro. Gennaro, realizing the situation, pretends to Aristide Paoloni a job, but the man ignores him. So, Gennaro begins to disturb the quiet family life of the Commendatore, who soon begins to look for a way to kill the poor Gennaro. Domenico Paolella
Domenico Paolella (18 October 1915 - 7 October 2002) was an Italian director, screenwriter and journalist. Born in Foggia, between 1933 and 1935 Paolella won several contests for amateur directors; in the same years he started working as a journalist for several newspapers and magazines. In 1937 he entered the film industry as assistant of Carmine Gallone for ''Scipio the African'', and the following year made his debut as a director of short films. During the war he was correspondent from the Soviet front. From 1946 to 1951 he was artistic director and chief editor of the INCOM newsreel production company. In 1939 Paolella directed his first feature film, ''The Last of the Road''. In subsequent years, he first directed a series of musical films of great success produced by Carlo Infascelli, then he specialized in the comic genre. Milvian Bridge
The Milvian (or Mulvian) Bridge ( it, Ponte Milvio or ; la, Pons Milvius or ) is a bridge over the Tiber in northern Rome, Italy. It was an economically and strategically important bridge in the era of the Roman Empire and was the site of the famous Battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312, which led to the imperial rule of Constantine. Early history A bridge was built by consul Gaius Claudius Nero in 206 BC after he had defeated the Carthaginian army in the Battle of the Metaurus. Anna Campori
Anna Campori (22 September 1917 – 19 January 2018) was an Italian actress. From 1951 onwards, she appeared in 70 films. Life and career Born in Rome, Italy, after the debut on stage in a small company of prose Campori moved shortly after into avanspettacolo and revue, entering the company of the De Vico Brothers with whom she toured across Italy during the Second World War. After her marriage to Pietro De Vico, she became the prima donna in the companies he founded, even still appearing on several stage comedies of other companies. Campori was also an active character actress for films and television series, a voice actress and a radio hostess. She made her last appearance in the TV series ''Carabinieri''. Ernesto Almirante (24 September 1877 – 13 December 1964) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born in Mistretta into a family of actors, Almirante worked several years on stage along his father Nunzio. He was also active as agent and organizer of several stage companies. After an occasional film role in the 1919 mute film ''Federica d'Illirio'', starting from mid-1930s Almirante became one of the most active character actors of his time. In 1955 he retired from acting and moved into a retirement home for actors in Bologna. He was the uncle of politician Giorgio Almirante. Paola Barbara
Paola Barbara (22 July 1912 – 2 October 1989) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1935 and 1978. She was sometimes credited as Pauline Baards. Life and career Born in Rome as Paola Proto, after her film debut in a small role in ''Campo di Maggio'' (1935), in 1936 she produced and had the leading role in ''White Amazons'' by Gennaro Righelli; the film had a huge commercial success and launched her career. Barbara was one of the most requested and popular divas in the 1930s Italian cinema industry; in 1941 she met the director Primo Zeglio who later became her husband. In 1943, with the worsening of World War II, Barbara moved in Spain where she starred on several films. Gabriele Tinti (22 August 1932 – 12 November 1991) was an Italian actor who was married to actress and model Laura Gemser. Biography Tinti was born in Molinella, Emilia-Romagna. He started his career in the 1948 movie ''Difficult Years'', and eventually got his first major starring role in the 1954 movie ''Chronicle of Poor Lovers''. He often played the role of a friendly and vigorous young man. He made an appearance, in 1968, in the last episode of ''The Andy Griffith Show''.
