Igor Kastyukevich
Igor Yurievich Kastyukevich (russian: Игорь Юрьевич Кастюкевич; born December 6, 1976, Saratov) is a Russian political figure and deputy of the 8th State Duma. In 2003 he started working in the sports development department of the Ministry of Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of Saratov Oblast. He left the post to become the head of the combat sports center in Saratov Oblast. From 2008 to 2011, he headed the Saratov Children's and Youth Sports School in martial arts. In 2011–2020, he headed the National Aikido Council of Russia. In 2017, he was appointed the head of the department of Youth Projects of the All-Russia People's Front. Since September 2021, he has served as deputy of the 8th State Duma. He is one of the members of the State Duma the United States Treasury sanctioned on 24 March 2022 in response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. 8th State Duma
The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 8th convocation (russian: Государственная Дума Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации восьмого созыва) is the current convocation of the lower house of Russian parliament. The composition of the 8th State Duma was determined based on the results of the 2021 legislative election. Elections were held using a mixed system: 225 deputies were elected on party lists and 225 — in single-member constituencies. Of the 14 parties that participated in the elections, only 5 were able to overcome the 5% barrier. And for the first time since 1999, more than four parties were able to form their own factions. The Russian occupation of Kherson Oblast is an ongoing military occupation of Ukraine's Kherson Oblast by Russian forces that began on 2March 2022 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine as part of the southern Ukraine campaign. The Russian-installed occupation regime was called the "Kherson military-civilian administration". Its name was changed to "Kherson Oblast" after the Russian annexation. Russia captured the city of Kherson 2 March 2022, which is the capital city of the oblast and is therefore strategically important.
