Ichamati district is a proposed district in presidency division, West Bengal. The district will be carved out of the existing North 24 Parganas district. History On 1 August 2022, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee declared the creation of Ichamati district carving out from North 24 Parganas district. Thakurnagar is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to the border with Bangladesh. It is situated on the east side of the Jessore Road. Thakurnagar is famous for "Baruni Mela".
