Pete Tong
Peter Michael Tong, (born 30 July 1960) is an English disc jockey who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as ''Essential Mix'' and ''Essential Selection'' on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals. Tong has also worked as a record producer and is regarded as the "global ambassador for electronic music." The phrase "It's all gone Pete Tong", where the name is used as rhyming slang for "a bit wrong", was reputedly coined by Paul Oakenfold in late 1987 in an article about acid house called "Bermondsey Goes Balearic" for Terry Farley and Pete Heller's ''Boys Own'' fanzine. ''It's All Gone Pete Tong'' is also the title of a 2004 film which portrays a fictional DJ's experiences as he realizes he is becoming deaf. Tong appears briefly in the film. "You Don't Know Me" (originally titled "U Don't Know Me") is a song by American record producer Armand van Helden featuring vocals from German-American singer Duane Harden. It was released on January 25, 1999, as the lead single from his third studio album, ''2 Future 4 U''. The creation of the song came about when Helden created a looping track composed of several music samples and left Harden to write and record the lyrics alone. The song peaked at number two on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in February 1999. "One" is the first single by Swedish house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia. A vocal version titled "One (Your Name)", featuring American musician Pharrell Williams, was released in July 2010. "Out of Space" is the fourth EP/single released by English electronic music group the Prodigy in 1992. The song is also featured on their debut album, Experience (1992), and is the fourth single from it. The song samples the 1976 song "Chase the Devil" by Max Romeo as well as some lines by rapper Kool Keith on the 1988 track "Critical Beatdown" by Ultramagnetic MCs. The song is arguably the most successful of the Prodigy's early period and was often played live by the band. The British Phonographic Industry certified the single gold in May 2021. "Yé ké yé ké" is a song by Guinean recording artist Mory Kanté. It was released in 1987 as a single from his third studio album, ''Akwaba Beach''. "Unfinished Sympathy" is a 1991 song by the English trip hop group Massive Attack, released under the temporary group name Massive. It was written by the three band members Robert "3D" Del Naja, Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, the song's vocalist Shara Nelson and the group's co-producer Jonathan "Jonny Dollar" Sharp. It was released on 11 February 1991 as the second single from the band's first album, ''Blue Lines'', on the band's Wild Bunch label distributed by Circa Records.
