Deep Purple In Rock
''Deep Purple in Rock'' is the fourth studio album by Deep Purple, released on 5 June 1970. It was the first studio album recorded by the Mark II line-up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice. Work on ''In Rock'' began shortly after Gillan and Glover joined the band in June 1969, with rehearsals at Hanwell Community Centre. The music was intended to be loud and heavy, and accurately represent the group's live show. Recording took place at various studios around London in between extensive touring, during which time songs and arrangements were honed into shape. ''In Rock'' was the band's breakthrough album in Europe and peaked at No. 4 in the UK, remaining in the charts for over a year. By contrast, it under-performed in the US, where the band's Mark I albums had been more successful. An accompanying single, "Black Night" reached No. 2 in the UK, becoming their highest charting single there. The album has continued to attract critical p ...

The latter recording features the only known live recording of " Never Before" (it was out as a single at the time) and a rare Mk II line-up (Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Roger Glover and Ian Paice) offering of "Maybe I'm a Leo". These two songs were played instead of the usual "Child in Time" to promote the new fort ...

''Live in Europe 1993'' (alternative title: ''On Tour MCMXCIII'') is a live box-set, released by Sony/BMG, containing two concerts recorded by Deep Purple in 1993. Each concert has its own gatefold sleeve and paper CD-liners, being housed in a cardboard outer box. The first recording is from a show on 16 October at the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart, Germany. The live album '' Come Hell or High Water'' from 1994 was recorded at this Stuttgart show. The Birmingham show was released on DVD as '' Come Hell or High Water'' in 1994. In 2007 each show had a separate release, in a jewel-case, being titled ''Live in Stuttgart'' and ''Live at the Birmingham NEC''. The Birmingham show was soon deleted, Ian Gillan advising fans not to buy the release, describing the performance as one of the band's worst. Track list ...

In Concert With The London Symphony Orchestra
''In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra'' (also cited as ''In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra Conducted by Paul Mann'') is a live album and DVD by the British hard rock band Deep Purple, recorded on 25–26 September 1999 at the Royal Albert Hall in London with the London Symphony Orchestra, and released on 8 February 2000 on Eagle Records. The album was a project started in 1999 by keyboardist Jon Lord, who sought to recreate the band's innovative 1969 album, ''Concerto for Group and Orchestra'', of which the original score was lost. With the help of Marco de Goeij, a fan who was also a musicologist and composer, the two painstakingly recreated the lost score, and Lord elected to have the band perform it once more at the Royal Albert Hall, but this time with the London Symphony Orchestra rather than the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and with Paul Mann as conductor rather than Malcolm Arnold. The concert also featured songs from each member's solo careers, as ...

Come Hell Or High Water
''Come Hell or High Water'' is a CD and DVD by the hard rock group Deep Purple. It was recorded on 16 October 1993 at Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany and at the NEC in Birmingham on 9 November. The album is one of the last to feature Ritchie Blackmore, as he quit after the concert on 17 November 1993 in Helsinki, Finland. He was replaced by Joe Satriani for the rest of the tour and later by Steve Morse. Recording Blackmore's issues with the presence of a cameraman on his side of the stage at the start of the Birmingham concert prompted the guitarist to return to his dressing room until the cameraman was removed. This leads to a longer than usual guitar-free intro into "Highway Star" and several truncated guitar solo spots through the show. The rest of the band's dissatisfaction with the behaviour of their soon-to-be-departed guitarist is evident in their interviews on the DVD. The CD features songs from the Stuttgart show, with the exception of "Anyone's ...
