Ian Evans (footballer Born 1952)
Ian Evans (born 30 January 1952) is a Welsh former professional footballer and Wales international. Career His first club was Queens Park Rangers and in September 1974 joined Crystal Palace, where he quickly became a firm favourite with the club's supporters. In October 1977 he sustained an injury in a tackle by George Best, playing for Fulham, which kept him out for over two years. In his time at Palace he played 163 games, scoring 16 goals and was capped 13 times for Wales. Other clubs included Barnsley, Exeter City and Cambridge United in a defensive role. After a 5-year spell as assistant manager to Steve Coppell at Crystal Palace he became manager of Swansea City from March 1989 to March 1990. Evans went on to be assistant coach to Mick McCarthy with the Republic of Ireland and helped McCarthy get the team to the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan and Korea. Egham
Egham ( ) is a university town in the Borough of Runnymede in Surrey, England, approximately west of central London. First settled in the Bronze Age, the town was under the control of Chertsey Abbey for much of the Middle Ages. In 1215, Magna Carta was sealed by King John at Runnymede, to the north of Egham, having been chosen for its proximity to the King’s residence at Windsor. Mick McCarthy
Michael Joseph McCarthy (born 7 February 1959) is a professional football manager, pundit, and former player. He was last in charge of EFL Championship club Cardiff City. McCarthy began his playing career at Barnsley in 1977, and he later had spells at Manchester City, Celtic, Lyon, and finally Millwall, retiring in 1992. Born and raised in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland, for whom he earned 57 caps and played at UEFA Euro 1988 and the 1990 FIFA World Cup. McCarthy managed Millwall and then the Republic of Ireland. He guided the country to the knockout stage of the last 16 of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Steve Coppell
Stephen James Coppell (born 9 July 1955) is an English professional football manager and former player. As a player, he was a highly regarded right winger known for his speed and work rate. He won domestic honours with Manchester United and represented England at the World Cup. After a knee injury ended his playing career, he went into management. He has managed several English clubs, most notably Crystal Palace and Reading, both of which he took from the English second tier to achieve each club's greatest-ever successes in the top flight.
