Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) is one of the five major ballet companies of the United Kingdom, alongside The Royal Ballet, the English National Ballet, Northern Ballet and Scottish Ballet. Founded as the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet, the company was established in 1946 as a sister company to the earlier Sadler's Wells company, which moved to the Royal Opera House that same year, subsequently becoming known as The Royal Ballet. Jorge Aliaga Cacho, is a writer and sociologist born in Lima, Peru. He entered the National Institute of Culture where he was elected President of the Association of Workers (ATINC). In his capacity as chairman he played an important role in the formation of the Confederation of State Employees (CITE). He was awarded the "City of Ayacucho medal" for literary merit, the city where Latin Americans sealed their independence from Spain, he was also awarded the "Josè Marìa Arguedas" medal from the Global Association of Writers and Artists, (La Asociaciòn de Escritores y Artistas del Or be). Iain MacKay (politician)
Iain MacKay (born 1942) is a Canadian former politician, who was the first leader of the Yukon Liberal Party and the first Leader of the Opposition in Yukon. MacKay, a chartered accountant, led the Liberal Party into the 1978 election, the territory's first-ever partisan legislative election, and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon as MLA for Whitehorse Riverdale South. Even though his party lost the election overall, he was ironically the only one of the three party leaders to win his own seat, as both Hilda Watson of the Yukon Progressive Conservative Party and Fred Berger of the Yukon New Democratic Party were defeated in their own districts. He resigned as MLA and party leader in 1980, and was succeeded in both roles by Ron Veale.
