Crane Wilbur (November 17, 1886 – October 18, 1973) was an American writer, actor and director for stage, radio and screen. He was born in Athens, New York. Wilbur is best remembered for playing Harry Marvin in '' The Perils of Pauline''. Warren Douglas
Warren Douglas (born Warren Douglas Wandberg; July 29, 1911 – November 15, 1997) was an American actor and screenwriter. Career Born in Minneapolis, Douglas was a 1929 graduate of Minneapolis South High School. He later attended the Minneapolis College of Music. Douglas' work on stage included work in local theater and acting in productions in summer stock theater. On Broadway, he had the role of Alec Dixon in ''Happily Ever After'' (1945). Beginning in the 1950s, Douglas focused his efforts more on writing than on acting. He wrote two novels, ''The Man from Wells Fargo'', and ''One Came Alone'', in addition to 48 teleplays and screenplays. He also wrote the lyrics and books for the musicals ''Belle Starr'', ''Go for Your Gun'', and ''The Peaceful Palace''. On November 15, 1997, Douglas died of heart failure at the Kit Carson Rest Home in Jackson, California, at age 86. Charles Knox Manning (January 17, 1904 – August 26, 1980) was an American film actor. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Motion pictures A former radio newscaster at KNX and announcer, Manning entered the motion picture field in 1939 as an offscreen narrator. His distinctive voice and phrasing were noticed by other studios, and he quickly became one of the movies' busiest voice artists. Very often he was the trademark voice of several concurrent series. From 1940 to 1954 he was the narrator of Columbia Pictures' popular adventure serials, reading the sometimes tongue-in-cheek scripts with enthusiasm. William Benedict
William Benedict (April 16, 1917 – November 25, 1999), was an American actor, perhaps best known for playing "Whitey" in Monogram Pictures' The Bowery Boys series. Early years Benedict was born in Haskell, Oklahoma, After his father's death when Billy was three years old, his mother supported him and his two sisters. He took part in school theatricals, and on leaving school he made his way to Hollywood. Career Benedict's first film was ''$10 Raise'' (1935) starring Edward Everett Horton, which launched the blond-haired young man on a busy career. He almost always played juvenile roles, such as newsboys, messengers, office boys, and farmhands. In 1939, when Universal Pictures began its Little Tough Guys series to compete with the popular Dead End Kids features, Billy Benedict was recruited into the cast.
