I Liga (women's Football)
The I liga is the second level of league competition for Polish women's football. Ekstraliga (women's Football)
The Ekstraliga ( en, Extra League) is the top Polish league for women's association football teams. The league's first season was in 1979–80. Initially, it was called ''I liga polska kobiet''. The first title holder was Czarni Sosnowiec. In 2005, the league was renamed to ''Ekstraliga kobiet''. The winner of the league qualifies for the UEFA Women's Champions League. Relegated teams descend to the I liga. 2020/21 clubs Source Format Up to the 2009–10 season with six teams in the league, the teams played each other four times per season. Thus each club was totalling 20 matches. The last place after the season got relegated while the 5th-place finisher played a two-legged relegation playoff. II Liga (women's Football)
II liga (Druga liga, ), currently named Betclic II liga due to its sponsorship by Betclic, is a Polish football league that sits at the third tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season, ''II Liga'' referred to a league at the 2nd tier, although this changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland. Currently, II liga is below I liga and above III liga. Since the 2014–15 season, the league consists of a single division, unlike previous seasons when it was divided into two groups, ''West'' and ''East''. The league consists of 18 teams. The top two finishers are rewarded with automatic promotion to the I liga, while the teams ranked third to sixth face each other in promotion play-offs. Teams who finish 14th and 15th compete in the promotion/relegation play-offs against III liga group winners, and the last three teams are automatically relegated to the fourth division. Tarnovia Tarnów
Tarnovia Tarnów is a Polish sports club, founded in 1909 in the southern city of Tarnów. With white and red hues, the club's founders wanted to emphasize their patriotism, during the time when their homeland was divided into three powers (see: Partitions of Poland). Tarnovia was based on two smaller teams, which had been created by students of local high schools in 1906 and 1908. These organizations, called ''Bialo-Czerwoni'' and ''Pogon'', merged in 1909, creating Tarnovia. In the interbellum period its soccer team played in Kraków's A-Class (see: Lower Level Football Leagues in Interwar Poland). In 1948 men's football Tarnovia was promoted to Polish First Division, but remained there only for one year and was relegated. 2020–21 I Liga (women's Football)
The 2020–21 I liga (currently named Fortuna I liga due to sponsorship reasons) was the 73rd season of the second tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949 and the 13th season of the Polish I liga under its current title. The league was operated by the PZPN. The league was contested by 18 teams. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. The season started on 28 August 2020 and concluded on 13 June 2021 (regular season). Each team played a total of 34 matches, half at home and half away. After the 17th matchday the league went on a winter break between 14 December 2020 and 19 February 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 110 matches have been played with a limited number of spectators. The rest of the matches (until 17 October 2020 and on 16 May 2021) were played behind closed doors without any spectators. MUKS Praga Warszawa, in English known as Praga Warsaw, is a women's football club from Warsaw, Poland. It was founded in 2001. After starting in the 2nd tier of Poland, the team managed promotion to the then highest league, the I Liga in 2003–04. In the following season though with the creation of the Ekstraliga Kobiet as new top league the team couldn't qualify. After three seasons in the level two leagues, the team got promotion in 2007–08 and played two seasons in the Ekstraliga before getting relegated in 2009–10.
